They made the freakin' coral crossbow when you upgrade it better then the CHAOTIC CROSSBOW. I realise it says that its not useful on other players (PvP, duel arena etc.) but still. Anyone that go the CCB for bossing or PvM, is now f*ucked (sorry for my language) in the bung-hole (NighmareRH FTW) with this update. The way I see it, everyone who bought CCB was trolled by Jagex for 200k dungoeneering tokens or like 60m (prices for 200k tokens in most dungeoneering shops).

This made me quite angry. I hate dungeoneering, and I got a CCB and a rapier.... GF.. I could have had maul and rapier, and something better then CCB....

its a great thing really, its good its better than CCB coz, the queen has absolutely no worth drops to offer, comparing with the level of difficulty, so it seems only fair to have the bow better than ccb

 

It seems fair...

On one hand, you have an amazing cross bow for PvM and on the other, an amazing crossbow for PvP.

I don't see why you're complaining.

Chaotic CB is still useful for PvP. Plus, not everyone can do QBD, so you have the chaotic CB for pures and everyone else.

For now, you need to be a level 120+ in order to defeat QBD and have torava/divine.

So stop your bitching.

 

I see your point, but I see it as a buyable CCB +15 range bonus. I always like chaotics because then it wasn't just rich people that had them, it was people who actually trained skills. I loved how chaotics weren't only obtainable for rich people, because I fell that being rich should not be the ONLY way of having good gear.

Also, from your post, I'm assuming you never wasted your time dungeoneering or buying a CCB. I have, which really upsets me. I know I've put effort into my CCB, where most people who will end up buying this with there un-legitimately made cash (I feel gambling [dice/flowergames/staking] and botting are un legitimate ways of making cash) and there weapon is better.

Also, with this QBD, there was the release of a DRAGON KITESHIELD! There isn't many items that were wanted/suggested as much as this one, and now here it is. I'm sure the price will rise pretty damn high because of the toughness of the QBD and because it looks sexy/new. So, it isn't the only good drop to consider with the toughness of this monster. Plus they have the new hide, which seems to be worth quite a sum, especially when you can get up to 5 at once. Don't worry, QBD has plenty of cool drops.

Also, I'm sure they could have at least made this weapon weaker? Why did they have to make a buyable Chaotic. IMO, the best part of them was that they weren't buyable (stated above). Why not make it 15-20 less instead of 15 more. So once again, I see rich botters/lucky gamblers taking over RS because of Jagex with these "good" updates.

Don't get me wrong, I think the addition of this QBD is great; A nice new challenge/adventure for all those PvM'ers out there. But, I feel that Jagex should have thought this through. A buyable chaotic... No No No. Make the weapon's upgrades untradable then. Then its like a CCB but, instead of training dungeoneering, you PvM. Then, it would not be so bad. Atleast the lazy rich people would have to use there rich b*tch gear to get it, and actually have a decent amount of skill to do so in the process.

Was this not the concern people had when the announced the "vine whip" would be coming. Forums all over the web about runescape were flaming and hoping Jagex wouldn't f*ck over chaotics. Only lazy people who didn't want to train dungeoneering wanted the vine whip to sincerely rival the chaotic rapier/longsword. Why should it be different with the CCB?

But mate, look at the facts. You don't need to kill the QBD to get this crossbow. You could just be a richie, and buy it. So for now, the only benifit that the CCB has, is that its good in PvP and you can get it by training a pretty slow skill (at the start anyway), and don't have to be terribly rich for it.

Thats the problem. Rich people now have the advantage again. When chaotics came out, lazy rich people had to do something for some of the best weapons in-game. But now, they are back to sitting with ease, just waiting for Jagex to ruin the other chaotics as well. Just wait, watch the "Royal Maul" come out, with like +200 crush, and +175 strength bonus. I know this probably won't happen, but if they ruined one chaotic, why not ruin em' all!

 

i agree with you degree,its just making it better for the lazy PVMers who like to buy their gear,but then again its not that bad since its not good in pvp.

 

It requires a higher level range level. It is probably harder to achieve + it can't be used for PvP. I think its decently balanced.

A better crossbow will come sooner or later and this royal xbow is just what most players would want. The crossbow is the main reason why most people kill QBD now.

it is sht that people who bougth CCB for PvM are fucked.. but ye you do have 2 great cbows for pvp = ccb and pvm = royal cb

 

I can see how some people who worked hard for their CCB's would be pissed off. But really, it is not a HUGE deal. The CCB is still the best Cbow for PVP and is still a great alternative for the new bow.

 

I agree and I would be really mad if I had chosen a CCB instead of a rapier/maul. Atleast it's still the best PvP xbow, for now atleast.

 

I completely agree with the OP here. I bought the CCB 2-3 days prior to the update.

I don't use it to PVP, CCB sucks at PVP unless you're a low level (Around a lvl 100 tank). Other than tha, CCB isn't used as a PVP weapon when you're maxed or near maxed. I'd like to find one person actually risking, not ragging, that is seriously pking with a CCB. In the wildy, you only see low level tanks (Round the 100 level mark) and pures use range. You won't see any high level unless they're ragging. Because CCB isn't a good choice for PVP and it cannot hit constant highs like a rapier and other melee weapons.

I leeched most of my dung, so I basically paid 40M (1.1M exp) for my CCB. I should have just spent that on a royal crossbow since I won't be using it to pk. I should have went with a CLS or a Maul.

YES! THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN TRYING TO EXPLAIN!
I know they would eventually make something better then chaotics, but I personally was hoping and thinking it would be fair, to make the new weapons that are more powerful, not buyable. This way, lazy rich @sses would have to do something. Main reason I like Chaotics, it's not just rich people that can have good weapons.

You don't need to kill QBD for this crossbow. You can simply do the quest for the original "Coral Crossbow", and then add these BUYABLE parts.
This is what I've been trying to explain. People can basically BUY a chaotic crossbow, but its better.

85 range requirement isn't much more then that of the CCB (80 range requirement). Most people with a CCB probably have 85+ range anyway.

I also believe that most people that got the CCB, was for PvM. You must admit, that not many people PvP with the CCB. It's generally considered more of a PvM weapon. You also must admit that you find other Chaotics (rapiers, mauls, longswords) more in the PvP, which supports my statement above.
This then helps prove that the CCB is more suited and used for PvM.

So the only advantage the CCB has right now, is almost out of the question. It is not generally a PvP weapon, and it will not become more popular in the wild because of this update.

I guess you have a point there. But, I never did say I want this Royal c'bow gone. I would much rather that people had to work for it and kill the QBD themselves to get it. So then, I would prefer the "upgrades" become un-trade able.

I think that the C'bow you can BUY (Royal crossbow), should be the great alternative for the C'bow you must WORK for (Chaotic crossbow). I guess this could just be my opinion, but it only seems logical. Why should you be able to buy something thats better then the one you must work for?

The way I see it (again):

Royal c'bow: Buyable CCB WITH 15 extra range accuracy, that you don't really have to work for if you make money un-legitimately (ex: gambling, staking, botting). You can just buy it.

 

CCB > Pking
Royal Cb > Pvm.

 

The royal crossbow can only use royal bolts, but the chaotic crossbow can use all the standard bolts, just another advantage of the CCB. Plus also max hits are the same, the accuracy is just a bit different.

IMO it's well balanced, and I'd be pissed if I'd worked hard for the ccb, but I'd be more pissed if there was never any new content and dung weapons remained the best in the game forever.

I like new content to! But what I don't like, is that Choatics have to be earned legitimately. Most cash isn't earned legitimately IMO. (Gambling [staking, flowergames, dice] and botting). Therefore, one of the best c'bows ingame can now be gained with next to no effort, for the rich anyways. This is what upsets me.

And what do you consider the strongest bolt? I thought onyx (e)'s were the best. I guess I could be wrong. Then you have that point. Because right now, onyx bolts (e) have a ranged strength of +120, where royal bolts have +125. Doesn't that make the Royal Crossbow have a higher max hit? Not to mention the royal bolts are really cheap ATM. I realise the price will probably increase so then this point will be irrelevant (depending on how much they go up to). EDIT: OH! lol. The onyx (e)'s have a special :FACEPALM:. I guess then they will hit higher, but not often does the special come into effect.

If there is a stronger bolt, I guess I should be notified XD. If there is a stronger bolt, I've been wasting a lot of my time with the second best XD.
