i know what happens when you die

I have had an experience one night; not a hallucination, not a near-death experience. It was a REAL death experience. I wasn't hit by a car or shot or anything. I was exploring my brain with the help of a very large dose of DXM, 1500mg to be exact. I will share my experience and then gather what I've learned and try to summarize what it'll be like after life ends.

I was having intense euphoria and decided to focus on the incredible feelings, so I closed my eyes and began to lose every contact with everything material. I had a few CEV's (closed eye visuals) and then (I really can't describe the experience with human words and labels but I'll try to. Anything in quotes I hesitate to use because it doesn't really describe it right.) I ceased to exist as a human. I "became" a aura of energy. During the experience I had no understanding of what a human or life was. Only when I came down could I process`what had actually happened to me. During this experience I didn't know if I was dead or still alive. It didn't matter because I didn't care. I had no need for human labels on what existence meant. As energy I was terrified but at the same time, I was the most peaceful I had ever been. I didn't need to associate things or work to think because I had no need for a brain or consciousness. About my surroundings, I was "floating" (can't think of a word to actually describe it because there was no sense of how high or low i was) around a black plane that was marked by bright green grid lines that seemed to dance and warp when I focused my energy on them. I could control my surroundings but it didn't matter because I had no need to. I gained no joy out of it and stopped because I only wanted to experience the lifelessness. It "felt" amazing to not have to "feel" anything. We truly are unaware of what this life requires us to do. I sit here, trying to remember what else I can describe. Realizing that I don't have the descriptive words to, I am frustrated because I just know that I was meant to find this out. During the same trip, I "met" with a "being" who was shaped much like a cloud that constantly changed colors and shapes. I hesitate to use "he" or "she" because, again, labels didn't matter. I also don't feel right saying that this "cloud" talked to me because there is no such thing as language when you leave. The cloud simply gave me a command to tell my experience and to share with everyone what I have learned. I have been sent by this cloud to explain to the world that there is no heaven,no hell, no rebirth, no nirvana or anything like that. All of those above require us to still have feelings and require us to understand what is going around us by way of labels.

In summary: The biggest thing is that we have no attachment to material things and useless labels. We have no need to feel both physical things and emotional things. We don't feel sorrow but at the same time we don't feel joy. Some may say this is peaceful, but that's the mistake, you can't say it's peaceful because it's just another label. You don't know what stress (opposite of peaceful) is. In reality you really don't know "anything" but at the same time you know everything. We finally can fulfill our humanly wish to be able to control our "environment" but it doesn't matter because we are no longer humans that wish to do so.

I don't encourage drug use, especially when used to find spiritual things out. But I can't help but thinking that this combination of elements, c18h25no, was meant to be invented or discovered for the soul purpose of unlocking the answer to death to someone. This someone is me. If you wish to experience this, good luck. I've tried multiple times since then to reach the same state but always over-shoot the dose or under-shoot it.

The biggest and best thing I got out of this experience is that I no longer fear death. In fact, if I were to be told that I had only a few hours to live: I'd be more peaceful than ever before because this mystery is solved.

Remember that (although I'm 100% sure that I'm correct because of my personal experience) I can understand that some people would have their own theories about what happens when we pass. I'd like to hear them and welcome your educated opinion on what happens when we die. I don't want to read "if you're good you go to heaven and if you sin you go to hell because the bible says so" a million times. Feel free to back up what you think with your own thoughts with experiences or feelings that you believe, not a been brainwashed to believe by religion or society.

Please ask questions if you're more curious about my experience. I love to talk about this subject and since it's my duty to tell the world, I welcome all queries.

Don't flame. Don't troll. Just think.

Remember the golden rule of the SFA forum: don't spam you're unintellectual opinion or you will be banned.

I'm glad your experience served a quantifiable purpose-- being that you no longer fear death-- but I still wouldn't mark up the hallucinations of a dissociation depressant drug to a true "experience of death". You may have already had a solid (albeit subconscious) precognition of what you think death is in order to be so sure it's what you experienced while under the influence of DXM. Post hoc, ergo propter hoc, in other words. What you describe is probably a subjective experience of the drug's general effects in high dosages.

But I'm not one to speculate since it wasn't my experience. All I know is I would have been a bit more skeptical upon waking up as to what I just experienced because my opinion of what death is is vastly different then what you reiterated.

Just wanted to focus in on this and point out the sheer ludicrousness of all of the following information. What you experienced was a flood of neuro-chemicals into sensitive receptors of your brain. Probably in the specific area that causes religious experiences. You experienced something similar to Temporal Lobe Epilepsy or Religious Ecstasy because of dangerously high levels of drugs in your system. People have been using these hallucinations as religious experiences for thousands of years and experience things just like you. You are going to really fuck up your brain if you continue to do this, you can destroy the neural connections in your brain which is the circuitry of your brain which can lead to your falling into a coma. It is all medically explained. Just like other near death experiences - it is a release of chemicals that flood your brain to give you a very pleasant sensation.

You were probably just tripping off your ass dude. Just pondering the question "where you go when you die" gives me the heebie jeebies. God is real and always believe that because if you don't and there is a god, your pretty much fucked for the rest of eternity, jus sayin. Good luck suckin the devils dick every day and gettin stabbed by hot pitch forks.

Or god doesn't exist and you get to spend an eternity recollecting how you were afraid of the empty threats of an ancient fairy tale

How does a 'drug' explain what happens after death? As far as I know, the 'after death' hasn't yet or can't be found/explained by science.

Maybe you can make a script that makes it so you never die. I would pay money for that.

I don't think anyone can really experience the after-life and come back and talk about their experiences. It may feel real and legitimate to them because in your case, your mind is been overwhelmed by the drug and it evokes all the electrical signals that stimulates the pleasurable part.

It wasn't a real death experience.

If a death experience is defined as the experience one undergoes while dying, if you weren't dying, you logically could not have had a death experience. Your intense hallucinations undergone as a result of psychedelic substance use fall under a different category. The effects of DXM/LSD/PCP/Psilocybin aren't spiritual, they are chemical.

All the new-age philosophy is just coincidental. The omnipotent being you encountered was probably just a manifestation of your psyche.

thank you for sharing your experience, Ellyphantman.

The problem with this is that I think it would be as silly to actually believe you experienced what life after death is as it would be to completely disregard it as a possibility.

Unfortunately in this instance you run into the same thing with any other belief: at this moment in time, it is only a belief as there is no concrete evidence to support the fact that what you experienced was indeed death

You must not have thought this through. If you come into the SFA section and say that you saw an omnipotent cloud that is like coming into the SFA and arguing that God exists because your religion tells you it exists. It just isn't a logical step.

Takes large amounts of drugs -> Has religious experience

It must be logical that you almost died and saw the afterlife! That is the only logical next step, you couldn't have been tripping because you had copious amounts of neuro-stimulants - no-sir-ee.

When someone dies or is about to die that is your body secretes large amounts of it's own hallucinogenics that are stored in your endocrine (I think) system. It makes death a rather pleasant experience because your body goes into this natural high. This is when the near-death experience happens, it is the bodies natural reaction to trying to die. If you survive and snap out of this trip then you're going to of course have remnants of this trip in your memories.

Trying to make us believe something that has evidence to the contrary is like the guy in the video section trying to prove he can levitate stuff with his mind. You have to show hard proof and have to have an explanation. Consider Occam's Razor - the simplest of chosen hypothesis is usually the correct one.
