    Fair Suspension?

This girl that goes to my school was suspended recently for making a Facebook account as part of a project in which people bully the account. She made it clear that it was a fictional account and so on, yet the school found it and decided to suspend her for 5 days.

The story is better explained through this video:

How do you guys feel? Was the school administration correct or wrong in their decision to suspend her?

Incorrect, facebook and a school are two diffrent things, relating them is just stupid...I understand that if she did bully someone that she should be talked to, but being suspended (missing out on education) is just stupid, and the staff should be ashamed...like legit

    Fair Suspension?

If what you state is true that she stated at the beginning it was a fictional facebook account, for a project about anti-bullying, then no she shouldn't be. Also how did this cause a disruption at school?

Completely unfair, but I don't think that her parents will care too much about it. I got suspended once for telling my raging teacher that raging like that is completely unnecessary and counterproductive and my parents tried to fight it, but in the end they didn't really care to much about it.

It's good that they took action, but A suspension should not have been given out.

There was an instance in the past of a school bully making a fake facebook profile of a fellow student and then posting insults and such on that fake profile. In that case, the bully deserved the punishment (which supposedly also included identity theft) however in this case, there should be no punishment as the student was trying to do something good, not bad.

In all honesty this is more of a off-topic thread as there isn't much debate to be had I could hardly even see a rational person backing the school board.

Hmm, I honestly think that the school board went too far...

Facebook and school in this case should not come together.

Its good that the school took action, but a punishment from the school should not be given for an outer school facebook case.

I think its ridiculous that the school suspended her for something on Facebook.
I like how someone took action about the page, and I understand how they thought it was real because honestly, not everyone lurks an entire facebook page. But the suspension was over the top, they didnt even let her explain herself well. *.*

Something like that is classed as cyber bullying here. Although, it wasn't actually cyber bullying as it was only acting. So the school made the wrong decision, which they tend to do a lot. They most likely just over reacted and wanted to get it sorted out as soon as possible.

Incorrect, if she actually told the school's headmaster that it was just "fiction" and is part of a project it's not fair.

Completely unjust, they just don't seem to have understood what was going on. It's a harmless project, and was supposed to have a positive impact. I would contact the school board if I was her. Maybe this could be a lesson that the school could improve on future "incidents" like this.
