    Hi I am a beginner in need of help, I run Windows 7 and was just wondering what a good free designing program is? Before I move on to purchasing a really good one?

    GIMP is amazing and free, and everyone starts in GIMP. It is like paying your dues if you will. It helps advanced technique over tools, because PS may have a lot of tools but they will not make you any better if you don't know any technique.

    The big thing is to learn the foundations of tagging and things like web design.

    Alternatively you can get photoshop free easily. Search on youtube for free photoshop [version here]
