Good Idea(s)? ||Feedback Please!||

I've come up with several ideas for some forums, the following are some very unique ideas that I'd like to know if you guys would join, or at least test out?

• Text-RPG Forums - A "text rpg" is a game played on forums in which you use your posts to create scenes and play the game out. Unlike Runescape, WoW, Minecraft, and etc. which all provide visuals, you must use your imagination to "play" this game. For example, let's say it's a game with a law plot to it - you'd create your character (let's say he's a judge), and go to the forum titled "The Courtroom" and write a descriptive paragraph about what your character is doing, and then another player would respond to your topic interacting with it. This would be a forum highly recommended to people who like writing, using their imagination, and gaming.
  
• Harry Potter Fan Forum - I'm extremely addicted to Harry Potter. In fact, I've read every single book multiple times. I love the plot, the characters that I've grown up with - and read about them grow, and so on. I'd like to bring my hobby to life and onto forums to share with other Potter Enthusiast. This forum would be recommended to people who love writing, Harry Potter, and other things of the sort.
  
• Music Forums - These forums would be basically all for musicians. There'd be a section to post videos, lyrics, your own creations, discussion, an instrument section, and so on. Although I don't compose my own music, I listen to music 24/7 as it is my aromatherapy. I love it, and I love the music that's been coming out lately - whether or not other people agree with that.
  
• Promotional Forums - These forums would be used for people to promote their own services/websites on. We'd be the "Yellow Pages" of Runescape Services. You need to find a Gold Farming company? No problem - just browse our forums. Powerleveling? I'm sure we can find you a reliable provider. Basically it'd be allowing users to find trusted, reliable, speedy "companies" to fulfill their desires on their accounts with ease and assurance that it'll be done the right way.

Your guys' opinions?

 

Use all of them. You would attract more people if you just made one forum that offered a variety of things. There are already plenty of music forums out there and same with pretty much anything you choose. Also attracting enough Harry Potter fans would be too difficult if that's all it is and it would be better to just put a book discussion section.

 

Out of all of them, I think that the promotional one would be the best forum snd the best one to go for.

 

Personally, I wouldn't join any of them-- but that's just because none of them hold my interest. Finding a niche on the internet is a lot of trial and error. If you make threads like this and tally up how many people like option A, B, C, and D separately, you're not going to get anywhere fast because people's likes are diverse. Make a site (or a few at a time if you can afford it) and focus on the ones that bring in the most traffic. Or try and combine them all in a quaint little recreational/off-topic forum website type thing.

They don't seem like 'very unique' ideas, but there are some promising keywords for those niches that could perform well for you.
Get stuck into the one that you are most interested in

 

i personally dont have much interest in any of them. but i would not be your audience. You can be sure there are other people out there as passionate about those things as you, and would thus be a great starting fan base

 

Just saying, for Text-RPG Forums, I'm pretty sure Gaia Onlien is pretty much what you are describing, except much more extensive.

 

Some good ideas. If you want more traffic, make all of them. It's hard to know for sure which will attract return users. I'm sure there are alternatives to each of your ideas, with the possible exception if the rs yellow pages (google? ^^). But don't let this put you off, look at how many rs forums there are, people will grow with the community then find it hard to go elsewhere.

I've had experience with this sort of thing before, and as a web developer could probably lend a hand.

The runescape promotional service forum seems interesting. All up to you tho i'd pick whats most interesting to you. It would be more of a benefit for you choosing what you like.
