He does bring up good points though, no denying that.

Most of the people here do scam... I'm surprised people even buy accounts from most of the people here to be honest.

 

Every forums has pros and cons , and the biggest reason sythe has many scammers is tat sythe gives every individual opportunities to increase business.

No other forum has people awesome like sythe , I have recently joined and i have come to know that if you are an experienced trader and well knowledge about the subject , sythe is the best place for you

 

Looks like a bunch of but hurt losers who didn't educate themselves on the market properly, and paid the price. The Original Poster is a complete joke, he thinks his credentials on another forum makes him think he should be trusted here. My favourite quote of his was "I mean why would anyone FALSELY report a scammer? What would it accomplish?!"

 

Everyone complains, but there are enough trustable people here, i'm sure.
Though he has some good points in his rage/complaint.

Lol'd reading that thread. I wonder what would happen if I stole that thread on villavu and posted it in the feedback section here on Sythe. All hell would break loose!

 

The thread was started in 2011 >_>... There are free omms, such as myself. About 12% of all sythe users are banned for various things, if most of sythe were scammer the ban rate would be higher.

The thread made me laugh. People who get scammed are ignorant people who don't read the rules or care to learn the correct trading practice 99% of the time. Then to complain about the system when you obviously didn't read the stickies.

It is a very popular stereotype associated with Sythe, there are a lot of scammers.

People are lazy, want RSGP for no work, so they turn to scamming. Simply atrocious and shows a complete lack of work ethic.

 

Lol, he is wrong. Not everyone scams on Sythe. If you trade with trusted people, you want get scammed

 

Regarding accounts, you just shouldn't buy one of extremely high value. Buy an account with decent skills and do the work to get higher ones.

I bought an account over a month ago with 99 Woodcutting (no one recovers this 99 because it's easy), 85 Fletching, 75 Fishing, 80 Firemaking, and 80 Cooking. All of those levels have been raised at least by 10 and my Fletching is 99.

The guy who sold me it hasn't been online since he sold it. Not all unsure-sounding deals are scams.

 

I still think under every condition that you can be banned for that the majority of sythe would be banned. Lots of people on here are going to be banned at some points and others won't be caught.

Not to mention just about every person on sythe probably did some stupid scams in the old days of rs like swapping iron for rune items, swapping 1000 items for 100, doing the stupid 4 at the end of number before the brought in the k and m system. They just know they can't admit it on these forums (some still do and end up banned lol)

Not to mention when you include all of sythe into your figures you are also including inactive people who may have quit rs/sythe

Yep, because mods/omm on this site have never scammed or been banned before right? lol. You have to assess the risk in everything you do on sythe and just make the best decisions you can. Not everyone is as good at this as others and they pay the price accordingly

 

Sythe.org has been around for ages in internet years, so there's bound to be bags of people who were 10 when they first tried buying gp here.

 

I've been using Sythe for over 2 years now and I've never been scammed.
I had no knowledge of trading when I joined, I just played it safe and didn fall for stupid stuff like other people. If people just took a minute to think over the trade they probably wouldn't get scammed, they'd realise it's dodgy and back out.
Most of the scams are down to stupidity, there are chargeback scams but again.. Don't take hundreds of pounds/dollars etc from some guy who has 10 posts and joined the day before.

 

Tbh, the sythe market IS shit. True, there are trustworthy and honest people there, but half the threads amd people there are just there to scam.

It's not a aafe place for people who are just looking for a quick trade.

That's the main reason I try to stick close to the off topic section.

 

I can't seem to stress this enough. You people act like Sythe is anymore private or public than the next forum... There are just as many scammers here as there is anywhere else. If you use the right precautions (Which should be taken anywhere), then there is nothing to worry about. If you choose not to, then expect to have your shit taken from you - you deserve it.

The internet is a public database where loads of scammers dwell, Sythe.org isn't any safer/worse than powerbot, mmoexchange, or even villavu. Trade right and don't be an idiot.

 

I've been scammed many times (mostly chargebacks on gold sales) , but it all comes down to weighing the risk and profits.

Besides, with a little education and patience, it's very easy to stay safe in most situations.

Also, OP of that thread is a decent guy. Don't be too harsh, everyone rages.

 

It's not like Sythe is the only community that has scammers. The entire internet culture in this modern world is full of people who troll, scam, deceive, lie, cheat, steal, etc. Trying to pinpoint that all to one website is ridiculous.

And in all honesty, it's not that hard not to get scammed. But a lot of people are stupid and don't follow the proper trading procedures that are outlined for them, don't use MM's, don't follow market guides and stickies etc. They really have nobody to blame but themselves. Making a thread about how much they hate Sythe just makes them look like a bunch of butthurt cry babies, unfortunately.
