Ghost Stories From Your Country

Let's share ghost stories from your own individual country. It could be old folklore or anything new; just something that used to scare you when you were young, or still does (boogeyman, slenderman etc)

Bad example:

Okay example:
There was once a man died because he suffered a heart attack during a marathon and thus couldn't finish it. His ghost would appear in the apartment room that he used to live in frequently. He did not cause any physical harm to people, but reports say that he would just run into the room passing a wall, and exit through the wall on the other side.

A man having heard of this story moved into that apartment. The night he moved in, he attached a white strip of tape on the wall that the ghost would exit through. When the ghost finally did appear and passed that tape, he did so with a "thank you' to the man who moved in. That was the last report of seeing the ghost.

 

Shortened version:

In Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, in Area 52/53, wherever MCT is at. There is a ghost of an old lady dressed in all white. I saw that bitch, and never told anyone about it.

Two years later talking to another Marine, he brings it up. Scared the shit out of me for days.

 

In my town there is a house that is still owned by a 80-something year old man. Anyway his son hung himself in the house and it got so many reports of hauntings that he eventually consented to tear it down. The shed in the back is still up, and I see the man plowing his fields every now and then when I drive by.

A solo-father went out and left his kids with a babysitter.
A while later, the baby sister called the father and complained about the clown doll in the kids' room.

The father told the baby sitter to call the cops and get the children out of there, because they didn't own a clown doll.
Later the cops came and it turned out that they did indeed own a clown doll and that the father had Alzheimers.

 

In truth 90% of ghost stories are just retellings of much older stories that change with each age.

Though there is a town near where I live that was subject of a television show called Paranormal State. It was concerning a man who claimed he was being hunted by a werewolf.

 

I feel like all of those 'Ghost hunter' tv show crap is fake.
