    Jagex'ed again...

I've been staking for like two hours, and I just lost 150M. I'm really pissed, no, I wasn't doubling, no, I wasn't doing anything stupid like that.

Out of about 20 stakes that I did, I must have lost at least 18 of them. It's fucking stupid because if I had won just 7 of them I would have come out profitable (any 7, doesn't matter which ones). I'm just pissed that I was so unlucky, this was boxing with a maxed main, how do you have a 10% winning rate? What the fuck?

    /endofrant.

EDIT: For those who think I'm complaining about Jagex, I'm not. I'm complaining about my awful luck.

Crap like this happens all the time, I learned that if you want to stake just be prepared to lose a lot.

I believe, that if you quit this game for like 1 week, or just do something else in runescape and stay off staking for 1 week, that you have more luck.
Works for me, sounds weird but jagex is weird too.

I'm sure he can control what he hits considering it's passed solely on probability. Don't post stupid remarks please..

Jagex didnt tell you to go risk your 150m.

You risked it. You had a 50/50 chance at best to win. You lost.

    Deal with it.

you clearly didn't read the post. he didn't risk his 150m at once. i understand it may be difficult for you to think of other ways in which 150m can be split up.

You make it sound like, just because he didn't stake all of his money in one go, he somehow deserved to not lose it.

Fair enough, losing 18/20 stakes is highly unlikely, but that's the risk with betting on a 50/50(at best) outcome.

Couldn't have but it better myself.

You must have been aware of the odds before staking, and yes you were extremely unlucky but at the end of the day if it was any different you'd hate it more.

If you can't afford to lose it don't risk it, I have very little sympathy and these rant threads really do achieve absolutely nothing.

EDIT: I apologise in advance if you feel I've been a little harsh, perhaps I have, although I feel you're allowing your frustrations to speak on your behalf.

Moral of the story: don't stake ;)

The chance of you winning 10/20, 18/20, 2/10 or 0/20 is identical.

You just drew the short straw and lost $100 worth of gold...

Yeah, I understand :/. If I had won 33% of my stakes though, I would have come out winning. Statistically, that's what shoulda happened (I should have won ~50% of them...)

It actually works for me too usually, just not today :/

I'm dealing with it bud, no need to be an ass. And I actually had a lot more than a 50/50 chance. Not wanting to do math here, I'm saying that I just needed a 33% chance to win to BREAK EVEN. with a 50% chance of winning I should have made a ton.

    Thanks :p

    Yeah :(

Losing 18/20 is very unlikely ._.

I was aware of it, the point of this thread is just to rant about how unlucky I was. I'm not asking for charity or anything...

    Yeah, I guess ._.

    10/20 is not identical to 18/20 or 0/20 ._.

18/20 is identical to 2/20, but not 10/20.

Think of it this way, if 18/20 was identical to 10/20, then a coin wouldn't be "fair". it's "fair" because it has a tendency to land close to equal amounts on each side.

2 in 20 is a 1 in 5000 chance, 10/20 is basically 1 in 5. (Use wolframalpha.com and type in "probability _ heads _ tails" if you want...)

You have to learn when to stop.

If you lose three times in a row, just stop and try another day.

Losing 18/20 is crazy, statistically speaking of course. That is just a statistically anomaly I suppose, and it happens just not often.

The whole point of staking is to try and better the statistics to in turn make a profit.

It's like why hot/cold hosts make so much, due to better patterns. Most people like to snipe, if they see 5 hots for some reason they expect a cold they bet on it, If and when they lose they but bigger, making the host more and more. When the better wins they tend to lower their bet making the host lose less really.

Everyone tries to beat statistics. Just as you lost 18/20 does not mean your due a win, it's best to stop and comeback another time.

I'm not saying I'm due a win, I'm saying that, from the start, losing 18/20 is incredibly unlikely.

You got unlucky get over it. Should of stopped or logged out. 18/20 is not unlikely iv lost plenty of 10 in a row or more. IT HAPPENS. You should of saw a trend after loosing a few.

Learn from your mistakes and quit bitching.
