In my personal opinion, this will be the death of a beloved franchise. It started with Skyrim, Bethesda was pushing more and more towards casual gamers, and honestly I hated it. Now this? Goodbye Elder Scrolls, I have loved you dearly.

 

This'll be shit. There's no way Bethesda will be able to pull this project off.

I miss Morrowind and I am sad because this is going to suck.

 

What's cool about it so far is that they're letting you roam through all of the previously discovered countries in the TES series, in the same game. That'll be awesome imo

 

So far that is about the only thing it has going for it.

What really made The Elder Scrolls unique was the first person immersion that the games offered. Now that it will be 3rd person, with a hot bar, etc., it just looks like another generic MMO with a decent story. That screenshot further shows how generic it looks.

 

I hope they can bring this to Console. I would also love this game.

 

Name 1 MMO that did well on the console.
Anyways, this game COULD have been great, a first person, real time action game with great crafting/enchanting. It might be able to live up to the last part, but the first 2 it's already been confirmed it won't be like that. Bummer.

 

Is there a release date or did I JUST MISS IT?

I just finished reading my monthly copy of game informer, and it was about 5 pages of

"We can't do this, this, this, this, and this, but we do have a hotbar! and we can't do this, this, this, this, and this, but you have stamina, which is just like an elder scrolls game right! You guys are going to love it!"

 

The gaming media has been getting worse and worse. Something isn;t right in this

 

"It has to be comfortable for players coming in from conventional MMO games" Bullllll shit. The only thing this game *HAS* to be is worthy of being an addition to the TES game series.

Additionally, I don't see why you can't "master every skill and owner every house", runescape allows it. It's not an impossible idea to have a maxed out character who's good at everything-- that was the beauty and the incentive to play skyrim for hours on end, months at a time.

Sucks you can't become a vampire or a werewolf in this game

DCUO has done very well on console.

OT: Good idea on theory, the TES fans( at least the newer ones that have only played skyrim) have asked for it for quite some time and they are doing it. This could be EPIC or an utter Failure. Either way i won't be able to play it because my laptop is garbage.

 

It would be good IMO. I've only played like 10 hours of Skyrim but a game similar online would be pretty good and enjoyable.

 

That's the problem, its not going to be similar. It just going to be a generic MMO set in the Elder Scrolls universe.

 

The graphics aren't even TES quality, that is one of the many things TES is known for - it's advanced graphics. It looks like MMO graphics, and you all know what I am talking about. If this game becomes successful then they will most likely stop making the single player game, kind of like WoW did to Warcraft.

 

You could make an TES game play into an MMO, granted players would have an extremely hard time adapting to the fast paced of it. Then again, games like RaiderZ, Vindictus, ect are also 3rd person and have to aim to play and rely heavily on combos but still have a hotbar.

I played Vindictus and loved it, granted my PC wouldn't run it very well.

 

Sounds like alot of work to be done, but then again the elder scrolls is getting worse with the following up skyrim I was sort of dissapointed I didn't feel the same in Oblivion. I'll give it a try but not really expecting anything to be amazed from, although i could be wrong lol never know when it comes out i'll see.

 

Will it be first and third person?
