Thoughts on santas and H'ween mask?

Well I'm talking more of the prices both of these items are about 10 years old now (that's a lot if you think about it)I'm most likely going to be buying one of them and when I take a good look on the graphs over the past year they've just been plumetting completely any reasoning behind this or thoughts?

They are plummeting for a variety of reasons, but here are the top ones:

- Jagex wiped and is possibly still wiping hundreds of billions of gold from the game from RWT accounts. This decreases the amount of coins, meaning the relative value of rares drops to compensate.
- RSBuddy raped and pillaged the RS economy, then the bot nuke sent it to the other extreme, and now Epicbot/Tribot/Powerbot/Simba/private bots are basically back just as strong as RSBuddy.
- Relevant rare items like the Spirit Shields and Nex armor are competing with the rares for "show-off" gear, meaning less demand for discontinued items.
- The Max Cape/Comp Cape update has convinced a lot of people owning rares to sell them in order to spend ~1b+ on the buyable 99s.

 

if your selling your bank to buy one don't do it, it might go up or it might go down but its really a wast of money.(unless you have lots)

 

Obvioulsy everything kerokerocola posted is spot on to be honest.

Especially the point about nex and spirit shields, people who get rares to 'show off' can now get gear that is impressive as well as practical.

Another point I would add is the growing number of people with money to try and flip these items. Not so much the case in party hats but a large amount of people buying 'lowers' aka Santa and mask sets tend to be buying them in the short term as they do not expect a large increase of price which results in a lot of demand and a lot of supply at times.
Friend chats like 'R Quark' also becoming extremely popular and well known making it easy for everyone to know the prices of rares means it's challenging to cause a price change.

 

KerokeroCola is dead on. Santas are dropping Masks going up atm.

 

False. Wile torva and all those "useable" rares are going up, more can always be brought into the game, unlike santas and masks. When i quit my self, i invested about 10b into santas and masks, because around Halloween and christmas they always double in price.

 

Blue mask is the best of all rares in the category of masks,easters,pumkin and etc just my opinion tough and yes torva and all other rares are going up ^^^

I would suggest buying rares only when you got spare cash. Their pretty unstable right now. >.<

 

All i can say is don't buy one, it's going to keep plumetting in price and your going to lose quite a bit of gp if you decide to sell it after.

I would much rather buy multiple 99s than to buy a rare of any kind. I sold my Santa hat last Christmas (a great idea for you). The price of a Santa hat always goes up near Christmas time. You could make some profit if you have GP to spend. Like, buy a Santa hat when the time is right and wait for Chrismas.

But, as I was saying, I prefer 99s over rares any day.

 

They'll keep dropping and than going up and then drop etc, it's at your own risk to buy one.

Because there have been lost billions of coins by jagex catching RWT's you should buy it at a low price and than keep it for a long time to make absolute profit

 

There's no point in a long term investment, not like they're going to jump to 1b each any time soon.
