compared to what is out there now, no it is not worth it, however the quests to get it are atleast worth doing, compared to zryte bow now, the crystal is just a subpar bow, but if you just want it to bullshit around, it isn't a bad choice for non-pking/bossing.

your asking a question that obvsly can't be answered by me, and jsut because it is stickied does not mean a i can't update my online status.

 

How can I practice Jad?
I'm trying to get the kiln cape and I end up at wave 35 with like a full yak and inv. If I don't die on wave 35 I die earlier than that.
I have a maxed 42 def pure with 99 summoning.
Are there any up to date p servers that can let me practice?

 

i do not play on pservs, and i do not endorse any of them, do you mean practice on jad, or the new kiln itself? the best way really if you got the money to spend is to watch alot of vid guides and read txt guides, and just stock up on capes practicing.

thats really the only sure fire way i can think of to get experience with it.

if you fail, look at why you failed, and see if its the same reason and see if you can changed your setup to get past that hump.

I think i'll just try the entire kiln again.
The only reason I mess up is because sometimes I switch prays when he didn't switch attacks.

One more question. I've been using curses on the kiln but I don't know if I should. I don't need soulsplit because I have blood barrage, and I have rigour and augury if I use the normal prayer book.

The only good thing about the other book is that I can use deflect which kills monsters a little faster.

 

if you do NOT use SS, and do NOT use turm that much, then try rig/aug if you range/mage alot, the extra prayer deflection does help, but you could also do more damage with better pray boosts.

 

You can practice the pray switching aspect of it by turning on a fight video of jad and listen for the sounds. When you hear the sounds switch to the corresponding prayer in order to get your confidence up.

 

If I cook swordfish at 83-85 cooking how many approx will I burn do you think? Btw it will be around 3.6k fish I need to cook. I cbf getting gauntlets until level 90ish cooking.

Just started getting all the new high level shit so I can pk. I'm looking to specifically do SoA pking with a buddy of mine just to fuck around mostly or kill the pkers on penguin day.
Can you recommend me an invy for a hybrid set up or any other tricks/tips that are required. I tried youtubing SoA pk vids but didn't get many.

I have rapier, goliath gloves, d defender, 91 summon (I understand at 92 you get that mage familiar), barrows gloves, claws etc.

Also not looking for max gear risk

edit: forgot to include I'm maxed combat stats with 95 prayer and 97 mage

 

I'd suggest Ganodermic+Arma staff+Bss+infi boots with a barrows switch with the g gloves. bring a korasi for spec.

 

really couldn't tell you it depends on how lucky you get, i do not beleive there is any set % of burns to cook ratio at any level, guantlets only take maybe, 30mins TOPS to get, i would suggest getting them sooner then later, its going to help you in the long run. if you need around 3.6k to cook for the exp, i'd say you may end up burning around 200ish, if that.

i've never pked with soa, what are you better at comboing with, mage/range, or mage/melee? or would you even be decent tribrid? also what are you willing to risk as far as gear value/chaotics?

i would try some ahrim robes with soa, with a combo to SS/turm and ethier d claws, or korasi <-- if in single zone.

a few tips would be to always Teleblock, if your pj'ing with a friend, have him do his melee or range hits while the guy is armour swapping, then when he swaps to mage weakness gear you jump in, then when he switches have your mate spec him, then you jump in on your specs.

invy set up i would do ethier a mage pot, or a vecana skull ,-- if you want to use it that is, range or melee potions, 1 pray renewel, few ppots, brews/restores and some rocktails. weapons+ runes, get some good tanking food, as i'm sure you plan on being abit deep in the wilds, and you never know when you will have to do a 4 minute tank test when running to the tele area of wildys.

ring: berserker (i), onyx (i), or berserker

dragon claws
amulet of glory
I would not bring a rapier or whip because storm of armadyl does extremely high sustained damage even through prot magic
2-4 brews (6)
2-3 super restores (6)
magic potion
super att/str
runes for soa, entangle (nature, mud - save a slot), teleblock (6 rune slots total)
rest rocktails

If you're at magebank or 44s bring a tortoise otherwise just bring an extra brew or two (3 or 4 instead of 2 or 3).

You can also replace the ahrim's/zuriel's with ganodermic if you want to be a prod. I just never used it when I pked because I thought it was pretty unfair and overpowered.

How to pk:

Teleblock them when they don't have prot mage up (or with it up if they look like they're gonna insta-tele, just be sure to re-tb at the correct time)
Entangle them

Autocast storm

When they're at like 30% hp switch to your claws and str-bonus gear, then kill them.

I have some questions about the Void Knight Deflector.

First is it worth using for fight caves or in general? I would have Goliath Gloves as the replacement equipment as opposed to dragon defender.

How long does it take to get the 1250 conquest rank in order to unlock it. I have read that you can boost with a friend to get it up fast but I would like an up to date estimate on time frame and requirements. Also is this a service that is still offered regularly on sythe by anyone?

On the busier worlds there are often people who you can pay to lose games to you, and it doesn't cost too much. It only takes a few hours to get your rank to 1250 from what you start at.

 

Are there any not-well known combat spots that I can train a 1 prayer/defense pure with melee at?
Ideally not the common rock crabs/minotaurs/fleshies/experiments
