    Computers and anti-viruses

I remember ages ago I installed like 2 anti virus and then heard somewhere that 2 anti virus on the same computer can slow it down because its competing against one another or w/e

and right now I have ESET and about to install malwarebytes
will having 2 antivirus on my comp affect anything?

Having 2 (or more) Anti-viruses can sometimes cause stability problems. Although I run Kaspersky and Malwarebytes and I've never had any problems with them.

I find it mostly redundant to do so because there are very few occasions where one DB will catch something and another wont. Plus if someone knows anything about a hex editor they will simply edit the code that flags the virus scanner and it will be undetectable.

Common sense is the best antivirus. Couple that with anything you like as a backup option and malwarebytes for those tricky ones and you're all set.

If you're using a virus program and Malware program you should be fine, but if you have two actual anti-viruses it could cause some stability issues.

May cause some slowness every now and then maybe while watching videos or playing games online but its better than being less protective *I recommend to keep both i personally have 2 but then again its just my opinion*

i have found that in general Microsoft security essentials works great on all my computers (windows). but i don't think that i have downloaded anything malicious so it may be mostly common sense

This is what I would suggest. I have never had a major virus or anything on my pc (knock on wood), it starts with common sense. when I repair others I use malwarebytes and it it really good. Just make sure you backup files regularly.

I'm pretty sure I don't have any virus
but I just wanted to make sure.

IMO Malwarebytes will be sufficient to scan your pc periodically for threats.
