    AMD to Intel?

I'd like to have your thoughts, to know if passing from my AMD system to and Intel system would be a good idea.

My PC is basically a gaming PC, I've built it myself.

    It currently has:
Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair V Formula AM3+
    RAM: 12GB
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz

I'd be looking to switch for a new CPU and motherboard, as my motherboard is for AMD technology.

CPU would be a Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz OR 3.5GHz, still not sure, it's only 5$ different.
Motherboard is still a good question, as there's a lot out there, I was probably looking for one of the following:
ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z/GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68
ASUS Maximus V Gene LGA 1155 Intel Z77
    ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155 Intel Z77

IF I do change, I'm planning on spending around 500$ and reselling my current parts (CPU+Motherboard), which should go for 200-250$ and more.

Give me your thoughts, thanks ^_^

I'd say you're pretty much set. Doesn't seem like there's anything wrong there.

I think it's a justifiable upgrade. If you go with the 2600k, get the 3.4ghz one and overclock it yourself (which is incredibly easy with the Maximus V). For the motherboards, I like the Maximus V out of the ones you listed.

However, you should post your GPU setup because if you're gaming, you'll get much more of a performance increase with a better GPU. GTX 670? fuck yea.

Or go for the 3770K with an h80. It's a good 15% increase for the same price range (not oc'd.)

My current GPU is a Sapphire 5850 Vapor-X edition, pretty good graphics, though I've considered switching it for a Nvidia GPU, still not sure which one, as this upgrade should only go to later on this Summer.

So basically, if you want to play games better, upgrade the GPU, if you want to run more bots or something like that, upgrade the CPU. You can get a sick ass gpu for $500

Personally I can vouch for this mobo ($229 after rebate):
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131791

Works amazingly. Also, if you want to wait till they come back in stock, I would personally want the Ivy Bridge, but I have the 2600k and it is awesome. Like Dank said, if you want to game more over botting, bump up your gpu, for botting, bump the CPU.
