upcoming combat update

thoughts on what might be chanigng? and how do you think it will affect the game.

i personally think it may be nice, and a move towards like other MMOs where your keyboard is more in-use and not just all mouse. will deff keep my eye on this.

 

One thing i like about Runescape is the ability to semi-afk it, not too sure on this one.

 

I am hoping that it just makes everything a bit more balanced, and hopefully revives the wilderness a little bit when it is first released and everybody is eager to get out and test it.

This should be very interesting, whatever happens. Probably the biggest update to the game that has come out in AGES.

 

i wonder if they will change it to be more like WoW how you can zoom in to your character and change all the angles and what not (more than you can in runescape) and also make it so you move by W.A.S.D i think that would be somewhat cool, but i'm not sure how that would change runescape...and i'm not sure there looking to change the game that much but idk thats my thoughts on it.

 

you know i have never liked the wasd i have always used esdf so my hand stays in typing form even tho i dont type with my norm hand keeping my hand on F helps me keep my place, but more fluid camera movements etc would be nice.

 

It's supposed to be balancing the combat triangle. I read something sometime ago, a valid thread stating that it will be possible to have up to 4000 lifepoints, and that all gear will be lifepoint boosting. It was quite an interesting read

I will try to find it, but I am currently on my One X so don't get your hopes up.

 

This seems as if it's going to be good It might give a new twist on the standard "hit and take" style fighting. Will it make RuneScape more laggy at all?

 

honestly i think theyre gonna add the ability to heal people and make some skill related to healing. I think that would be an awesome addition.

 

Would have to redo all the bosses and everything since healing would make them so much easier.

 

If this happens the game will become even more like WoW, yuck.

Whatever it is I doubt they'll execute well, their large updates seem to be their worst.

Sure it's about balancing the combat triangle that's why their releasing the new equipment, this is cuz of something I read off runewikia a while ago.

 

I remember reading the 20 pages of q&a's and they stated that runescape currently has the ability for wasd movement, they've tested it out and its kind of buggy. They don't have any plans to add wasd movement any time soon (Unless the community demands it). If you really want wasd movement you will have to make a thread on the forums and have massive support ( which i think most people want wasd movement)

 

Looks good most likely this will be like the rsc-rs2 type deal were you'd be able to choose which game you'd like to keep your account on t's about time they made a major overhaul the change from rsc-rs2 was a few years between we've had this current combat system for far to long it's time for a change

 

I hope they don't do higher combat .. 120 all stats

I can never understand Jagex. If we wanted a high performance and graphics game we would play Wow, or GW2 (when released). Us players play Runescape is it is:

A) Our childhood.
B) Simple and fun.
C) Oldschool compared to new games.

I just want them to leave everything alone, it gets worse and worse in my eyes

 

Why do people keep on comparing RS with other games...



The combat "triangle" needs a heavy rework. PvM is quite stale. I rarely use anything other than melee for monsters. 99% of slayer monsters are so weak to stab. Why bother ranging/maging when you can finish a task in less than half that time.

I doubt RS will ever become WASD style. It wouldn't be RS anymore.

 

I highly doubt Jagex will implement features such as those used on WoW (if that's what you're referring to).

I think they're simply replenishing the combat triangle and making it smoother, cleaner and balanced.

 

Read this and I'm quite excited. I think they are going for a WoW approach where you can jump and move more freely when fighting.
