Software reviewers

Hello,
Over the past few months botting has returned, meaning people are making scripts and trying to sell them. But there are problems. People put nasty little things into the code. I think we should have reviewers who review the scripts similar to that of guides. It would reduce the number of people saying "will buy this when verified". It will also reduce the number of virus' put into some peoples code.

Not many people on Sythe know how to code, so it would be hard for any normal person to spot what is good and what is bad.
The people who know how to code are normally busy with their own coding and other activities.

The best thing to do is just buy from people you trust

 

He does have a point. I have seen quite a few people selling scripts which looked good but he appears new on Sythe.

Would like to have some form of safeguard in that section.

 

This is a good idea, but remember the people testing them would have to download them therefor giving them the nasty things and it would be a real sketchy job i think for whoever got put up to it, but other than that if they could figure out a way to test them and review them this would be a good idea.

But with what i said above, i doubt this would fall thrue. 8/10

 

The software reviewers could all use virtual machines to test the software, so no harm is done to their computers.

 

This is a good idea, though the reviewers would have a procedure like this.
Gets pmed about wanting program verified.
Pms back saying he will.
Person who want it verified sends them the code to it, not the actual program.
Reviewer will try it out and look through code (Will have to know coding to an extent).
Then writes "Verified."

 

I think it's just better to PM/ask a staff member who has knowledge in coding (for example Clashfan or Blupig) and ask them to look over the program and the source to ensure it isn't malicious in any form.

Just be careful and only get software from trusted users.
