Prison Shows?

What prison shows are out there? Anything related to prison life like Prison Break.

 

Banged up abroad is a great show, it tells the story of people who try smuggle drugs in places such as Thailand and shows them getting caught and what happens to them and what it is like in the prison they are in. It shows pretty much everything that happened to them.

 

You mean Locked Up Abroad? Yeah that's a good show.

If you're looking for an actual series to get into, then I recommend you watch Oz. It's from 97, so it's a bit older if you're okay with that. It's great though and as good of a prison show as they get. It's very realistic and can be quite disturbing at times. I don't think there are any other shows out there that are actually about prison.

Banged Up Abroad and Locked Up Abroad are actually different shows, but essentially about the exact same thing. Banged Up Abroad features less stories about incarceration in foreign countries however, and more stories of people being robbed, beaten, kidnapped etc. and then surviving the ordeals. Locked Up Abroad is obviously about people who get imprisoned in other countries and the terrible ordeals they go through. All the stories are 100% REAL so it's quite a cool show

Btw - I just read about Oz and it looks fucking awesome! I am going to download it right away

Also for KMJT - Like Dimethyl said, there aren't too many prison shows out there (at least not that I know of), but prison movies is a whole different story

 

Oh I didn't know that. I just looked it up and it's actually made in the UK, which is why I've never seen it on TV. Apparently Banged Up Abroad was the original title.

And Oz is great. You should definitely check it out. It has J.K. Simmons in it too haha.

As far prison films go, A Prophet, Cell 211, and Hunger are some good ones that come to mind if you like foreign films.

 

I love prison shows... I would literally sit at home and watch them all day. It's such an interesting topic, so fascinating.

Not really prison based, but I loved Prison Break, and I've recently started watching a show called "Breaking Bad", which is about a high school chem teacher with terminal cancer, so he starts up a meth lab. It's quite good, actually.

 

Jesus looks like i'll have to find a lot of time to watch these lol.

Yeah I watched some trailers & scenes from Oz that I could find floating around on Youtube, and it looks fantastic. I've been meaning to download it all week but I keep forgetting.

I will also check out the 3 films you recommended, as I love foreign films and all your suggestions thus far have been great

KMJT - Somebody up above mentioned the movie "Dog Pound," which totally slipped my mind before. But I would definitely recommend that movie as well, it's a pretty cool movie about a bunch of kids serving time in a juvenile facility. I think you'd like it

And use these sites to watch just about any movie you want. The first 3 are supposed to be pretty much the same, but sometimes one might not have something you're looking for, while another might. You usually have to look it up by its real name too if it's a foreign film. I also recommend you stick with Putlocker, Megavideo, Sockshare and Videoweed. Most of the others don't work a lot of the time.

Hunger is on Netflix Instant and I couldn't find Cell 211 with subtitles, but you can try looking some more if you want or just order it off Netflix.

The main character in Oz - Augustus Hill, I believe? - is that also the character "Michael" from Lost? I couldn't quite tell in the trailers as he looked much younger, but I think it was him

And holy shit, you're right! That is Michael. I seriously can't believe I didn't notice that before. I'm still on the first season, but still. It's so obvious it's him just by hearing his voice.

 

Yeah I know it's crazy! He looks/sounds so much younger than he does in Lost
