    NBA Playoffs

the knicks are in no way "serious contenders", lol. more like serious pretenders. shit the knicks are like the bobcats of the playoffs.

My predictions after seeing the first few games...
    East
Philly takes the Bulls in 6
Miami fans get your brooms out cos NY getting swept
Pacers over the Magic in 6
Boston downs ATL in 6 or 7

    West
Spurs over the Jazz in 5 (Jazz gonna win at least once in SLC)
Dallas will bounce back but ultimately lose to the Thunder in 6
Lakers beat the Nugs in 5
Memphis take Lob City (Flop City) in 6

enjoying playoffs so far though. id really like to see a miami vs. lakers final b.

Basically it's going to come down to Heat and Thunder where the Thunder will take it all in 6 games.

Read my previous posts, they are serious contenders... they've beat every team in the Eastern conference except Miami Heat, but they have gotten close. When Woodson took over, we were doing GREAT. We were paired with probably the strongest team in the East... regardless, they are actual threats. But, I can acknowledge that the Heat will probably with this series, that's disappointing.

I never said they weren't going to get sweeped, the Heat are the best team in the East.

but they arent and havent been serious contenders since the days of patrick ewing...

the knicks winning percentage vs +.500 teams is below .400

the coaching situation was to the point that it didnt matter which coach took over, they would have a better winning percentage. none of the players liked D'Antoni system

miami are a strong team, but the knicks should be able to play with them. knicks frontcourt>>>>>>> miami's frontcourt. tyson and amare should be absolutely abusing bosh and joel anthony, but like the rest of the season they just aren't flowing together. and with lebron, carmelo should easily be taking him. carmelo is the best isolation player in the game and has been known to body lebron up.

to win a championship, as Shaquille O'Neal has said, you need 3 things:
    a good flowing system
    a one-two punch
    a support cast

all the knicks have is a support cast, a solid support cast in J.R Smith, Novak, Chandler, etc.

BUT amare and melo playing together would never work as a formidable 1-2 punch. amare needs to be the first option for a good pick and roll point guard to feed him in the low post, where as carmelo works his magic best in the isolation game and the first offensive option.

and because their star players melo and amare can't cohesively play together (essentially the offense must flow around melo), having a good system, or at least a championship contending system wont happen.

They have had their off-years, but a lot of that had to do with coaching, and what not. Recently, the Knicks have had a change for the better.

Like I said, I can agree with you saying that they were doing terrible, and now they are improving a lot. Post D'Antoni, our record is 16-5.

Huh? Of course it matters what coach took over, the prime example is right now when Woodson took over.

Yes, I agree with you. Miami is a strong team, and I'm pretty sure they are going to sweep this series. The relationship with Amare and Melo seems to be one of the prime concerns, and it certainly does look like they play better when one superstar is out. If we can have a good system that incorporated both of them, I'm sure we would be doing much better. Regardless, we are still a threat, and that's where I'm getting at. We were doing great at the end of the season, and our offense/defense (Tyson Chandler DPotY, yay) was improving. I'm no way saying that we'll go the finals, and win. But, I will say we are a formidable opponent. If we improve on what we need to improve on, I think we can go really far next year.

    Eastern semifinals-

Heats vs. Pacers (Lebrons getting crowned MVP in game 1 on Sunday)

    76ers vs. Celtics

I can see the Eastern finals being Heats vs Celtics.

What a shame what happened to the Bulls. Stupid Watson, would have at least made for an exciting game 7.
