Thoughts on Gimmics?

Well how do you guys like the spin wheel thing and other minigame addon's like that? To me it just seems like an extra cheap gimmic used to make money and the prizes aren't worth jack, how about you guys?

 

Runescape should take it down it's horrible..
Basically RWT themselves..

 

Never even thought of that, it's garbage I got like 250gp for 5$ IDK it should be taken down it's just bad I saw it and was like "really jagex -.-"

 

Jagex currently is trying to reel in new members because they plan to make huge updates and can probably only afford it if they get more people.

It's bad marketing in my opinion.

Anyway, it sucks, but hey free spins.

 

I understand that I just thought jagex was above Gimmics and cheap stuff like that seriously it's like dungeoneering being a skill instead of a minigame idk it's just weird haha

 

Well Runescape isn't ran by the same people anymore. They were bought by a business company.
Frankly there ideas/goals might not be the same as it was when Mod Andrew was around..

 

They nuke botting so people can't bot for exp.

Introduce SoF so people can buy exp.

Smart business decision, Jagex cashing in on RwT.

 

SoF is horrible,bought around 200 spins and didnt win anything except a ton of lamps.pretty decent exp,but not worth the money

 

I personally hate the SoF. Jagex seems to be getting something out of it though, especially from those people who buy $200 worth of spins just to "test" it.

I personally don't see a problem with SoF, if it makes jagex money, prolonging the life of the game, and increasing the quality of updates, it can;t be that bad of thing. Plus we're not forced into paying for spins..

 

It's principle. Jagex told their customer base that they would never participate in real world trading activities.

 

Not that different from people botting to get the edge on legit players. And I doubt there is very many people attempting to buy multiple 99s via spins.

i personally know 3 people irl that ACTUALLY quit over the sof... its mainly a big issue with all the old school type players the people who have been playing rs for years paying the cocksuckers at jagex's bills. Jagex broke their own rule against RWT the only direction to go from here is down. I have never bought spins but have benefitted quite alot from lamps, gotten quite a few levels and tbh that in and of itself is unfair to anyone who had to work for those same levels. SoF is a noob attractor plain and simple its a horrible update and a slap in the face to the player .

 

They've been real-world-trading ever since the banner you got in-game for buying a ticket to RuneFest, not to mention the katana, green skin, and all the other perks they gave out from member card purchases. In fact, you can argue that membership alone is RWT, as it's essentially paying for a method to raise skills and earn gold more easily.

Don't call it RWT unless jagex actually starts selling rsgp for $

 

This is a very poor argument , runefest was an event for rs players to go to in real life with benefits that dont further the advancement of your character i wouldnt consider that rwt so much as it was a promo event. The green skin and stuff bought with LOYALTY points are simply membership benefits. I wouldnt call runefest or the loyalty program rwt by any means. Selling tickets to use in game for real world money that can get you levels and rare items is RWT plain and simple . If you remember correctly rsgp is on the wheel quite often and wheel spins being available for purchase you can essentially buy rsgp. Dont be fooled or have any pretense about it we dont need them to directly sell rsgp for $ to know which way the wind blows . They broke their own rules plain and simple .

 

About Sof, I am neutral. As long as I can still play rs, I'll be fine with it.

 

I just hate it lol.

 

I bought a couple, no rare items from it like the tatoos, horns, and things like that. However I did get a lot of xp lamps which was great...But I think I would rather just go buy actual RSGP than just get a few xp lamps. My 2 cents.
