Space Exploration and Aliens

Hey there fellow Sythe members.

This is rather controversial topic about SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) spending huge amounts of money just to send signals out into deep space, hoping to get an answer from a intelligent enough race to receive the radio signals.

In the first place, are there other beings like us or even more/less advanced than us to begin with? With the recent string theory, it suggests that there are multi-verses where we are located just in one of these bubbles of universes.

By that sheer size of the entire entity, probability says there should be at least 10 Intelligent life out there.

So what would happen if we get a legitimate Alien contact? Hollywood does always show 1 reaction of the aliens which is colonization of planet Earth. Would they be diplomatic or parasitic?

If the Universe is.. The UNIVERSE.. Then how can there be more than one? Dimensions is more like it IMO..

Seeing as though they've been finding hundreds and hundreds of Earth-like planets, and the fact that our planet is young. I have no doubt there are other intelligent life forms out there. Some could even be millions of years ahead in technology. They would probably have to go through the same stages as we currently are. We probably don't differ from them that much.. Just like humans there's good and bad people. I'm sure there's both Good, evil, AND neutral aliens. This planet consists of nothing but slavery, so i assume we are a slave race

It's a difficult question to answer, any species that is hyper advanced (+1000 years or greater technologically on us) is probably already aware of our existence. Its hard to guess because there are so many environments that could exist so its hard to determine what they will be like. We are obviously the apex predator on earth so much of our behavior has adapted from the smart yet frail hunters, however if other life such as herbivores developed intelligence then they may be more of a passive species.

Its much better to assume that they are hostile and then find out that they are docile than it is to assume the opposite. I think that life on other planets is inevitable, but perhaps intelligence is a rare occurrence in evolution.

 

This is a very hard question to answer, who knows what is out there. Also if there is life on other planets whats to say they are no real intelligence, and they would never be able to contact other planets like Earth.

 

I love this topic. Of course there is most likely other life out there. Hollywood is a sad representation of this pathetic planet. Hollywood says what they are portraying are "aliens" when, in fact, i believe they are truly embodying human characteristics into a less aesthetically pleasing shell. In other words...the "aliens" that hollywood show you who tend to colonize earth as you say...truly display the sick tendencies of humans. If we had the ability, you can bet your ass that the human race and corrupt assholes would colonize other planets and do whatever they have to do to get their way. If you believe otherwise, you are ignorant. I think making any prediction as to the personalities, temperaments, emotions, etc. of aliens is sheer stupidity as one really only basis their predictions off of a species they ACTUALLY know...humans.

YES, humans are those douche bag aliens that would take over planets and abuse resources and kill living beings on said planet for their own benefit.

Now let's take an ant colony and a human passing by as an example.

Would you crush the ant colony, observe it from afar or just ignore it? The smarter choice would be to observe it from afar and study their movement and etc.

Advanced intelligent life perhaps are already just observing us and well, laughing at our foolishness and humanity.

 

EVeryone thinks so simpkle mindly the picture of a alien in everyones mind is tall big head big eyes grey in color. You know the average alien somone would describe..

why cant an alien be somthing like a whale, somthing that lives and dies so fast we cannot even see it. Think outside the box ppl what if they live on the moon but we have just not seen them/

 

Intelligence as we know it is really narrow just because we have nothing to compare it to. I personally thing that if something has the capacity to travel across the universe, they would not take any interest in us UNLESS we are sort of a first group of life that they come in touch with. I am close to 99.9999% sure there is other life out there.

 

LOL. there is actually a South Park episode that is basically about how Earth is actually a universal reality show .... all the other aliens in the universe watch Earth for entertainment as we are so stupid, kill each other, etc. etc.

I do agree with you that there are other life out there.

So if we do discover them, what would our society reaction be? I believe it will really transform the way we think about ourselves. That we are not just a lucky spawn in the chaos of this Multi-verse.

 

I think we were made by aliens. I mean hey.. Ancient artifcats and such even have UFO's fuckin right there... Not to mention the Crop Circles.

 

That is one possible outcome which would radically shake our believes in religion...

 

My belief* The universe was at one point connected and every galaxy would mingle with each other.
That explains how some stuff is here, we could mingle with maybe more advance parts of the universe and they would share and we would share.
Once the "Big Bang" happened we separated from the other parts of the universe and thus not allowing contact between the different parts of the universe.

Microwave Radiation shows that the further we look in the universe the younger it appears. If we wait a thousands of years and give the time for light to travel to our planet we could actually see what is "Out There"
Because right now we can only see what the plant/universes looked like millions of years in the past. Unless we actually go to the planet (Which is not possible with today's technology) we will not know for sure for thousands of years.
Unless there are aliens out there thousands of years more advance than us, and they find us, we will not see aliens anytime soon no matter what they tell you.
Aliens could have actually already found us but are either: Studying us, avoiding us, fear us, among us, or not bothered by us.

I know i strayed off topic but yes, I do believe there are aliens out there. But* we will not find them for thousands of years or they will find us before then.

 

For the educated, this will confirm what we have speculated. For the religious groups they will either deny it or say god created them also. For the governments, they will try to show a dominance, almost like in The movie transformers. It will not go good for some people and will be amazing for others.

 

Movies and Real world are to different things...i think we can advance o that kind of technology but it will take to long and we prob would end up in a nuclear war and u know...

I'd say its quite a big risk sending probes and all that crap out into space to try and contact aliens, etc.

They will either enrich our society or destroy it. Those are pretty big odds, ones I'm not willing to bet on personally.

 

Everyone knows we have been visited before. Back in the days of my boy Eisenhower. I'm sure we have contact with aliens. There's a lot of shit people say about NASA covering it up and all that junk, I don't really know what to believe but it's of little importance to me anyway.

 

I have heard of many stories of personal encounters with these mysterious beings. Just that there's no evidence to even proof it.

And about NASA, NASA is government controlled. They would naturally want to cover up these stories to not stir any public outcry or panic.

 

With the M-Theory model, travel amongst two "universes" isn't possible. If there were to be extra-terrestrials that are capable of traveling to our planet, they would have to be extremely technologically advanced. Most people tend to forget how vast the universe is. It takes light approximately 5 years to travel to alpha centauri (the closest star to the sun). Relativity holds that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. When accounting for the momentum of an object as massive as a space ship, it would take an astronomical amount of energy to take a space ship to travel to another place inhabited by intelligent life in a plausible time frame traveling with a high velocity.

 

Are you familiar with the artifacts of the Dogon, and several other tribes that have artifacts of look-a-like spaceships? Their legends say, "They guided us to this land, and told us to settle. They helped us, and told us everything to do." The most ancient of civilizations Im struggling to remember the name, but it is one and first languages ever created. Scientist and experts can barely translate any of the language but what they can translate is pictures, and words on them. In several of those pictures are large ships hovering, and the words, "landing, ships, and tall me." Do you think they could have breed or even created us? Because it could be a possibility, but why have they not returned?
