Your views on people luring?

No offence, You have to be pretty foolish to fall for the lures, Anyone who asks you to come into a dangerous area obviously doesn't mean you good.

people have different ways of earning money. You can earn it in game, gold farm, buy the money from sites (like this), or lure/scam.

I don't see anything wrong with how people make money IN A GAME.
I've gotten lured for 1.5b before, took me two weeks of staking to rebuild, but that's life. If you can't keep your money from falling in to the wrong hands, that's your fault.

I agree about the learning experience, but it shouldn't really happen in the first place.

 

Luring is scamming and I have always felt that way. It's sad that Sythe supports it. I mean people shouldn't be so stupid, but we have to consider that we are dealing with 15 or 16 year olds.

 

I'm sure some lures are quite elaborate for newcomers.
What you label as "obvious" is not so obvious for others who don't have much exposure to it.

As for luring in general, I don't think it's right. Treats others as you want to be treated.

Luring is scamming and I do not agree with it at all. It should be punishable although if you get lured you must be fairly silly to not be able to sense what is going on, especially a red portal lure...

 

Are you 12? Kids rarely get time for stealing ipods, let alone gold pieces in a game.

I'm going to break down the stuff I've learned about luring after being a part of that section of the game for a couple of months:

- Luring is what it is; taking advantage of people that are less intelligent, have less common sense, or have less game knowledge than you.
- ''Treat others how you want to be treated''. Well that's a joke. We aren't in primary school anymore, that's not how the world works. People don't live in harmony in the real world. It's human nature to take an opportunity to better yourself at the cost of another person.
- The 15-16 year old argument is moot. I was luring at 14. The bigger problem at this age on the game is gambling. I've seen kids lose thousands of dollars worth of gold to a stake or a flower game because the hosts manipulated them into betting higher and higher.
- Let's face it, luring is fantastic money if you're good at it. Lower tier lurers can except a set of claws or a bandos piece every 60 minutes if you're effective, higher ones like CLS product can make up to 100M an hour.
- Luring is based off people's greed. I used to simply go around saying that I was hosting a youtube giveaway in the dangerous clan wars portal. The person takes the risk to go in the portal and if he dies, he dies.
- The videos you see on youtube aren't the real thing. Those partyhat lures are not 5 minute jobs. They require potentially hours or days of 'grooming' the target before he is actually lured.
- There are different levels of luring. Luring a long time 'friend' on the game is more severe than picking up people at the GE.

 

If you have common sense and you have good knowledge of the game you should be immune to lures. I don't consider it scamming unless your using a 3rd party website like sythe. Reason being is as soon as you inter the wilderness or clan wars/red portal you know you can lose items upon death therefor you shouldn't take anything in a dangerous zone that your not willing to lose.

 

Honestly, it shows you how the world is. It is a game, if you buy your items for IRL money your already breaking the rules anyways by RWT'ing. If your stupid enough to fall for a lure, then dont let it happen again. I was lured for my bank about 2 years ago, since then Ive lured maybe close a bil. They were all greedy and wanted the easy "drop party" money. IMO get lured and then make your money back by how you can.

 

while i havent been lured because i am generally a very untrusting person and the fact that these videos are hilarious i think of luring as worse than scamming on here!! Luring usually involves actually convincing someone you are friends building trust all with the victim. Thats sociopathic, granted MOST people that are succeptable to lures are grade a dumbasses and i could argue that they do indeed deserve it for their stupidity. Having personally know some people who got dicked in what i could only call a long term lure by someone who had built his trust along time invited him to his clan ect ect then one day the kid fucked him over . He was pretty obviously hurt by it not by losing millions on a videogame but on the blatant abuse of trust. Btw that indian kid video cannot be reall... thats about the most racist indian accent iever heard lol

I thinks is bad, like a scam. People who pk are risking on purpose, but preying on other people is low IMO. To be fair though, a lot of people who get lured are the people who are our luring. I have no sympathy for people who fall victim for their own greed.
