Crashing Rares?

This, they go crazy at Christmas.

Rares always dip and rise. Because they dipped a little more than normal, everyone's panicking about it and trying to sell their rares before "They Crash too much." Really, this isn't helping with the price drops. When things become a little more stable, they'll start to rise again.

 

So will rares at the moment continue to crash? Where do you think masks and santas will stabalize at?

 

I think they will until Optimus comes by, which will break a variety of the current bots going and slow the amount of gold going into the economy.

 

just don't simply sell your phats / rares too low

I have a red phat and its dropped literally like 150-200m in value. Though, I'm keeping it for the long investments, because I still have 600m+ to spare for the game.

Rares will always go up because the supply is going lower and lower. In a few years you'll see certain rares 3-4x their price from now or even sooner - if rs doesnt fuck up in that time that is.

 

The price of rares have always and more than likely will always fluctuate in tandem with the street price of mills. As far as the in game price of rares go, they've always been pretty stable in accordance to the street price of GP.

 

There has always been a correlation between rare prices and the street value of gp. When gp is at its lowest street price, rares are worth the most, and vice versa.

If over a span of time you want to see if your rare has actually dropped or increased in value, calculate it by the following for example:

Bought purple at 1200m while gp was 0.45
1200x0.45 = $540

Current price at 900m (no clue) while gp is 0.7
900x0.7 = $630


630-540 = $90

Therefore by holding onto the rare this person would have profited $90, even though the in game price has drastically went down. A rule of thumb.. the IRL value of rares almost always rises in the end.

This is sort of along term investment, I'm sure by the end of August these will be worth more than they they were before the crash.

 

Depends rares could be crashing solely due to inflation because at the moment I would say that there is too much Rsgp floating around in the economy. I'm no expert but thats my take on it and they won't rise again until the economy reaches a parity or some sort of equilibrium.

 

if i had the money i would buy a rare right now. people are freaking out and letting them go for cheap. just wait till it goes back up!

Buying now just seems like a bad idea, until optimus comes out I expect they'll continue to crash; I suspect everybody is trying to invest in the commodities that bots are producing for now, before they get scarce and shoot up in price.

I mean, phats dropped 40m+ today.

Cash out now and buy once they bottom out, who knows, maybe you'll be able to afford 2.

 

Rares appear to be rebounding now. Phats have started rising again; atleast since yesterday- purp went from 814-838, yellow from 845 to 898 etc. I suggest buying now.

i had a new thought:

since jagex had its huge win against bots...botting has taken a huge hit. BOts are what generated tons and tons of excess rsgp into the game thus causing inflation of items such as rares.

perhaps now since bots are somewhat destroyed...maybe in game prices will drop and rsgp prices will go up?
