The general consensus is that simba is the best. But why?

(sorry if discussing botting is against the rules, I see a lot of threads talking about simba getting locked, but I have a valid question)

Why does everyone like simba so much? The public scripts are very specific and many are not very good. They don't have high level scripts, at all. The most you'll get is a lobster fisher or a giant killer.

Does everyone know how to script and make their own? I've been trying to learn but it takes time. Does everyone have members and can access (I'm assuming) a plethora of good scripts?

Is this why everyone likes simba? Because they make their own scripts/are good enough to get members?

I await everyone's opinions, I don't really know what to think about simba.

Its history, openness and mature community.

People say color is shit... compare to reflection/injection.. NO SHIT! But doesn't mean we can't make almost any script that reflection/injection is capable of...

As a scripter, I'd love to have injection and reflection. Because its a much powerful tool and enable us to make much powerful and reliable scripts. But as far as color goes, its 100% legal and requires critical thinking and skills along with the usual good scripting standard to make a good script.

 

I use it because it is the most secure bot, has the lowest ban rate (save for RiD), and if you are willing to take the time you can find a lot of awesome scripts for free - or if you want scripts to make you money you can just pay a little gold. Also as you mention you can take the time to learn to script yourself.

Right now I am making 250k/h fishing rocktails and I can leave it running over night and easily make 1m - 1.5m by just sleeping. There are scripts that make more, but I am also working towards 99 fishing at the same time. I paid the equivalent of 10m for the script and if I botted 12 hours a day I would make that back in less than a work week.

tl;dr: Secure, low ban rate, good scripts if you take the time.

 

Might not be just because of the availability of the scripts, but the maturity, helpfulness, mindset, and open-sourceness of the community and project.

The majority of the community is mature and kind to others, LOTS of detailed help and tutorials for every possible problem or error, and TONS of tutorials for ANYONE even with 0 programing experience to read and learn to make their very own scripts.

On top of that Simba/SCAR is THE OLDEST and still working bot for runescape. It basically can never break or be stopped as far as we can see. As long as runescape uses color a text (forever?) Simba will work.

Everything is open source, nothing is hidden from the users. Read all the script code, SRL code, and Simba code for yourself and see it's safe and clean!

Members do have a lot of the better/banking scripts, but even still nothing TOO special is in there.

It's just amazing to me finally people are realizing how amazing SRL and Simba are, even without having the 'best' scripts out for public, the community and mindset is what draws them in, and the friendship and knowledge keeps them there and happy!

Also the mindset is to auto SMART and SAFE, not sell scripts, goldfarm, leech, and RUIN the game and economy. We bot moderately, and safely to keep Runescape in a good safe balance, not rape the game's goods, economy, and money making methods.

 

They don't have as many scripts nor is their community as active as the old Powerbot, etc. But some of the guys there are super helpful. They've been in the botting scene for quite some time and Colour Bots are a bot you can almost be sure will stay around forever. I don't believe the upcoming Optimus will be able to take them down.

 

^We are probably one of the most active ones out there. Obviously when things like rsbuddy/runedream came in they had a HUGE amount of leechers there, where only the people that has some common sense stayed in SRL... Which is why we are still active today where those forums like rs buddy is totally dead.

Btw powerbot came from a member in SRL....

 

Yeah sorry, I was talking about activity overall. Powerbot, Rsbuddy, etc all had larger communities but it was mainly because the people that used their site grabbed the bot and only came back to the community to whinge and complain when it didn't work. If we're talking sensible, active, dedicated members, Villavu's forums are probably the best.

I'd say to sum it up is the security, the friend & helpful community, the many guides on how to set things up / make your own scripts, and the long-lived reputation. One could go into detail on each subject, but that's pretty much the nutshell, through my eyes.

 

I personally never used Simba scripts until about a month ago, as I quit once the bot nuke hit and now I'm back and I'm really satisfied with the public scripts I've found on the SRL forum. They aren't perfect but they get the job done, I do babysit the bot a lot though. As for all the bots out right now, I've heard bad reviews about epicbot, before the bot nuke and now after the bot nuke about some people being hacked, i'm not saying that epicbot was the cause of it, I just don't want to risk it. I tried RiD awhile back and I didn't like it and you do have to pay for it, when Simba you can find some free scripts that'll do what you need. I hope Simba bots only get better and better as I'd like to see some more useful bots in the future.

 

Simba is if not THE most trusted way to bot. This has already been said most likely, but there is no way for you to get hacked. If you're getting a script from their site, it has to be checked which results in it not containing malicious code. Sure the random events only get 50/50 done, but you can run a script that does them for you while you bot so it's a win/win.

The client lags like heck and can hardly be compared to the others, in my opinion.

The only thing they have going for them is the community is friendly -- which surprisingly the bot 'nuke' didn't ruin.

 

yes exactly.. simba has a script now that you run while you run your script.. it takes over when you have a random event and it does it flawlessly. you really have to get into simba and explore everything before you start botting

 

Well the general community there is just great and no matter how many bot nukes come along they won't break Simba. So really summed up the community is great and the client is reliable

 

It seems like the folks at SRL are smart with what they allow the public to use. They know that if they release a nature runecrafter, then the price of natures will drop like 30%. So the natural choice is to be stingy with their public scripts. Although I understand where they're coming from, I just run like 2 accounts, I'm not a goldfarmer, and I don't know if its worth learning tons of coding to get on the member section I don't even know will be good. I understand why it's so limited but it really makes my situation a lot harder than it should be. I just do this for fun, maybe make some rsgp or train some stats. I don't want to turn botting into some kind of work, it's a game.

 

simba is a compiler, not a bot. You download scripts to run.
