Ways to Improve the site

Ok so I have several Ideas to improve the site.
Here is sort of a plan.
1. No matter what, keep this a forum not auctions site.
2. Implement a trade system such as the one on player auctions
3. Give users a choice between trading freely or using the system.
4. Before someone posts buying or selling, have a Mod Admin or OMM check that they actually have the item they are offering to sell, or the currency they want to buy with.
5. Have more Mod/Admins check the Scam section. [ Was Scammed 2 times today, still no reply to my posts]

Also, some of the stuff you have suggested just would never happen, there are nowhere near enough staff to keep tabs on who has the item that they say they are selling/buying. And it should be up to the users how they want to trade, not what the site says. Also, the staff try and go through spam reports as quick as they can, at the end of the day it's up to you to make sure you trade safe and prevent yourself being scammed.

 

There was never any talk about turning this into an auction site.

Why would Sythe even bother competing with such an established site? People have gained hundreds, others thousands, of positive feedback. They won't just switch to Sythe.

Admins, Mods and OMMs don't get paid. They do things out of their own free will, they have a life and a job as well. People have conducted a lot of successful trades. If you use a trusted MM or OMM, you won't get scammed. This suggestion will be turned down immediately, because you are suggesting that the people that chooses to help the site work here, when they don't even get paid.

As above, they have a life and job. Their life isn't Sythe, they try to keep Sythe in order whenever possible. Would you spend countless hours on Sythe because you're a mod/admin when you could be playing RuneScape or doing something fun?

Put yourself in their shoes.
