Avatar: The Legend of Korra

Well, this is after the hundred year war. Aang has died, and so has many of his friends. This story is primarily about Korra; the new avatar, who's a waterbender from the Southern tribe.

 

Yes, and no. The main character has no connection to Aang besides being the next avatar. However, the new avatar's airbending teacher is the grandchild of Aang, and he has three of his own kids with one more on the way-- all of which (besides the unborn baby for the moment) are also airbenders. Katara is still alive and lived with Korra and was her master for water bending. Sokka is probably dead, he's only mentioned once. Toph befong is dead, but she has a granddaughter who runs the police force in the big city. Zuko doesn't have a connection to any character or plot in the new series yet. That's all I know of at the moment.

Actually, the unborn baby is an airbender, as well. Also, Tenzin is Aang's son, not his grandson. It's also not certain if Katara taught Korra. Yeah, I'm pretty sure Sokka is dead. By the way, it's confirmed that Zuko is alive, and that he married and at least had one kid.
