As long as there is a way to charge back all kinds of Paypal payments by simply claiming that there has been unauthorized access to your bank account or credit card there will be fraudulent payments.
Just access your own account via a suitable proxy, fill the claim and bring a charge against an unknown person. Frustratingly its so super easy.
For selling virtual goods Paypal is a gamble. Simple as that.
The problem is basically the same with all means of payment if the provider offers similar easily exploitable mechanisms and regulations concerning payment default.

Same goes for buyers of accounts. We all know how easy it is with many companies to recover accounts. Just find a dumb support agent and tell him a heart-touching story and have some personal data of the original owner at hand. If it doesn't work first time, rinse and repeat. Many companies don't even log recovery attempts.

As mentioned several times on this thread the best way is to only trade with people that have proven to be trustworthy, are regularly active and care about their accounts/online business. And even those may scam you.

Furthermore fair trade conditions and incentives to do further business in the future usually lead to good trades.

 

that's why you use player auctions when you're selling unless that person is very trustworthy. also use common sense. if you do that you should be fine.

 

The amount of scammers on this site is extremely exaggerated, we have a lot of legitimate traders. You'll just have to trade only with trusted users when you're first starting out. You have to learn the proper trading etiquette, and then you'll go farther on this site. Remember, there are scammers anywhere you go, it's not just Sythe. Besides, the staff work strenuously to cleanse this site of unwanted members, and to ensure safe trades. Sorry to hear mate, should try to be more cautious on who you trade with. Especially when using something like PayPal.

eBays full of scammers too....not everybody is honest. Blame the sellers not the site.
