I'm still running a lynnfield i7 860 and have been waiting on ivy to release for some time now. The improvements really aren't that much over sandy bridge, unless you're planning to use integrated graphics. It might be worth it in a few months time when there's enough supply to drive down prices. As it stands, I think the 2500k is still the best CPU for the price.

I'm fine with my i5 2500k at 4.8GHz lolz. These chips are great and all, but the improvement over Sandy Bridge isn't enough for someone like me. I'm pretty sure the 2500k will last me for at least this generation, if not the next too.

I'm thinking about it, i've recently built a new gaming PC and my board boasts compatibility with ivy. Currently on an i7-2600k thought.. lol.

So Ivy Bridge isn't purchasing an Ivy Bridge.. Fascinating..

But I won't be purchasing one either.. I can do everything I need right now with power to spare.

And they only support 1600mhz RAM which is think is dumb..

I have the 2600k, I am not purchasing it, its a slight bump up but not worth the money at the moment. BUT in a build I am putting together right now, I might get it just to see what's up with it =p

I was thinking the same thing loll
