How the fuck do people snipe names so fast.

I had a really, really rare name that I bought here on Sythe and put membership on maybe a month and a half ago. I was extremely careful and waited maybe 2 weeks after I bought it to make it a member and change the name so it could be ready to transfer in 28 days. I even waited on the 35th day or so when I was going to transfer, it and did not change it on the 28th day, which is recommended.



So...When it came time to transfer the name that was on the lvl 3 account over to my main, I had both the pages up, had the name already typed in, etc. I could have sworn it took less than 3 seconds but when I tried to enter the name it said it was "unavailable". I thought it was some sort of mistake, so I kept trying again and again until finally I gave up. I logged into Runescape and found that someone had sniped my name because the name was logged in lobby 2 or something! How is this possible, as I know he/she couldnt have manually done it.

Fuck, I spent a load of money on this particular name and waited FOREVER, only to have the name sniped from me. This is so sad. Is there a program out or something, or is there like some sort of autoclicker for names that people use these days? I mean what stops this from happening again? And how could I really have prevented this because I already know I was careful as hell.

@ shreds--yeah, i didnt know whether to make a thread here since it does relate to name sales, or under runescape general. I guess if a Mod comes along he can just move it to the appropriate section i wouldnt mind.

o sorry, Its just that my friend said that he just sniped the name 'feasting'.

and also my friend said the way he sniped the name as by adding them and when they logged out he would try and take the name.

Name sniping bots are getting ridiculous. I've noticed this happening as well (I've lost an extremelyyyyyy rare one myself). However, there are methods of avoiding this. One of the many methods that I've thought of myself are to transfer your name right after a runescape game update. This way, bots are force kicked off of runescape, and you can execute your switch while the game severs are down via the site page. This is probably the safest method for transferring a name right now.
