BIOS are beeping, and after researching for hours, I'm thinking that the mobo is shot due to HP making awful computers. I tried replacing the RAM to no avail, and I also plugged in an independent GFX card since the current one is integrated (but since I have no idea whatsoever of what I'm doing, who knows if I did it right). So either way, it's a Phoenix BIOS and apparently 1 constant beep has been drawn back to a shot mobo. The mobo is from an hp a6500f (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...foCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=3740339) It's about $110. So at this point, is it really worth replacing, or should I just go en route to buying a new custom PC? Or am I doing something completely wrong and is the mobo completely fine? Thanks guys! Any and all help is and will be appreciated :'D
Have you tried resetting the Motherboard? Unplug the power supply, and find the small circular battery on the Motherboard, it's usually around the bottom right/left side of it. Try taking that out for 10 seconds then putting it back in and starting your PC up again and see if it does anything different.
If what laptop says doesn't work, then yes it is done. Since you have already checked the ram and Graphics card (two of the most common errors), it might just be a bad motherboard and it happens often. I don't know what parts you have already but if you are pretty much up to date parts wise, I would just replace the motherboard. Otherwise, if the parts are older, go for a new build.
Tried the battery, and it didn't work :l http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...foCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=3740339 Are the specs, and a new mobo is here Thanks a bunch so far guys! Is it worth a try to replace the PSU at all? Edit: How does this look? http://www.computerlx.com/config.aspx?t=&product_ID=1617
I'd call support and get a replacement. If it was from newegg I think they have a return policy where you get most of your money back
Are the integrated graphics on that pc good enough? Because it's not run on a separate video card. :0
You could always snag one for less than $200.. I'll help you pick out a good one if you have a budget you'd like to spend..
