    For or against it?

Also what are your arguments, have you ever got problems because of its use?

I've used it and I noticed the difference. Not really against it as it's natural and isn't unfair.

    Pro's to creatine:
    - Aids in muscle repair and recovery.
    - Temporarily increases muscle mass.
    - Stretches your muscles which promotes growth.
    - Aids in performance (apparently).

    Con's to creatine:
    - Possible bloating.
    - Dehydration (easily avoidable by drinking more water).

There really are no negatives to creatine. In fact, it's one of the few supplements I would recommend taking. But don't let it go to your head - diet and training are key. Also, make sure to cycle it.

Creatine monohydrate > all other creatines.

    Nope.

Thanks for the information, really appreciated.

So based on what you're saying, Creatine has nothing to do with Steroids, which can bring you tones of problems?

Right, creatine has nothing to do with steroids at all. Steroids are a completely different substance.

I see no problem with using creatine if your smart about it. If you are going to be using it though, make sure to sit down and talk to someone knowledgeable on the subject (Coach, doctor, trainer, ect..) so you can get a good idea of everything you need to do to get the most out of it.

    Creatine supplements

While Simple has suggested pros, the science behind it is that creatine (creatine phosphate) is the fuel for the ATP-PC System (which is most primarily used in weight lifting, ESPECIALLY 100m sprint to give you a good exmaple), its basically the fastest contracting energy system but it has a very short duration.

You're basically providing fuel for that energy system, allowing you to lift more, which causes an increase in muscle breakdown, which you're muscles will repair and get stronger, it only temporarily increases muscle mass because that fuel is stored in muscle sites.

edit: forgot to add from personal experience, creatine ethyl ester (BSN Cell Mass) and creatine monohydrate are the best types of creatine, i've also heard "Creature" is good too

Love creatine but you have to be consistent in taking it and drink a tonne of water otherwise you will get dehydrated.
Also I have found creatine to give you dry skin so make sure to use moisturiser when needed.

I've also used creatine ethyl ester in capsule form, really find it useful, lets me do more reps and the capsules don't make me feel bloated. Makes me drink a lot of water too which I didn't do in the past.

    Creatine supplements

From the research articles I've looked up (I study medical science) there seems to be some decently solid theory behind creatine supplements. When you do weight training and other explosive anaerobic exercises, the glucose from your diet is not broken down and utilised fast enough to supply your muscles with energy when you do these exercises. Instead the ATP (adenosine triphosphate) your body has accumulated over the course of the day builds up and is used to fuel these high intensity and explosive contractions. What creatine does, to put it simply, is convert the fairly useless ADP (adenosine diphosphate) (also present in your body along with ATP) into ATP by adding a phosphate group. The presence of the extra phosphate is what makes ATP such a high potential energy source, and is what your muscles will use until depletion.

My recommendation is to drink a lot of water with these types of supplements, and take them before and after workout sessions to maximise the effect.

    Creatine supplements

creatine can be great if used properly. I have personal experience with it myself as i have been an avid weight lifter for years now.

The thing is though, you should make sure to take creatine monohydrate by itself. do not take one of those bullshit mixtures of shit called like "Superpump250" and stuff. Yeah that stuff has creatine in it but it also has a bunch of other shit in it to " pump you up". The creatine is fine..but the other bullshit they dump into those mixtures can do damage to your body, liver, etc.

I tried superpump250 back in the day when my personal trainer recommended it (which i figured out he did because he gets commission for selling those products)...long story short i ended up in the hospital because i had a panic attack from it and thought i was going to die. it is bad.

creatine monohydrate powder or capsules is fine. It is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies that we usually obtain from meats.

It helps to boost you for a workout and helps to make you merely appear bigger in the long run because it makes it so the muscle cells in your body retain much more water, which in turn make your muscles appear bigger. This also causes dehydration since it retains the water so you have to be sure to drink TONS of water to stay on the safe side.

good luck. feel free to ask me any other questions you might have about exercise/weight lifting as i am quite experienced and actually plan on getting my personal training license soon

Yes it's a great creatine and that fruity smell from the ester is always nice :).

Just note that with Creatine Ethyl Ester you do not have the load, whereas with creatine monohydrate you need to eat it once with every meal for a week then maintain throughout. (though if you do use it, you'll notice that the creatine monohydrate amount you take is VERY small, approx a heaped teaspoon!)

im in the middle, i personally wouldnt use it because im not that big of a juice head.
I will use other supplements though, however i refuse to ever get chacolate or vanilla.
Those are both sooo disgusting. Any one know any good fruity flavored mix's from gnc? preferably without creatine

Creatine should most certainly not be conflated with anabolic steroids, and you are not considered a 'juice head' for simply consuming creatine, which might I add is the one most efficacious bodybuilding supplement with NO real side effects.
