Anyone here ever set up / use a windows vps/server for botting purposes?

I have. It worked reasonably well, much easier to set up too. A little bit more stable than Linux, but from what I remember it took up more CPU/RAM.

 

Yes. Used Windows Server 2003 - 2008 R2 for botting.

 

Never have myself but have heard that people who have a good bot to go along with it have made a fortune. Goodluck if your making a Bot farm

Yeah client crashes were a big problem on linux. Even when you run 1 bot on a server capable of 15, that 1 bot can still crash lol. How many crashes do/did you get on a windows server/vps?

 

With Simba on a Linux VPS, I had 10 Bots going on 5 separate VPS's, and every morning when I woke up generally half of them the client had crashed.

With Epicbot/Rarebot on a Linux VPS, around 2-3 of the Bots would crash overnight.

On the Windows server VPS I used once for a few days (It was a friends, he was letting me try it out) The clients didn't crash at all with Rarebot/Epicbot, and it did maybe once or twice with Simba.

 

Thanks for the insight. Is your friend's windows vps/server a personal one or did he order it online (if so where is he renting?)?

 

Never used a VPS myself but never had a bot farm either. Personally before even getting a different/new VPS I would wait for the bot nuke "optimus" to see what happened but thats just me.

 

He's renting it from a website, I'll ask him when he's online.

 

I'm almost 100% theres free ones. fill me in if you happen to find any.

I doubt. There are trials and tests but not free VPS'

 

I have 5 windows servers for botting at the moment. Even from serverloft.

None of my servers have crashed (over month(s) time.

For some reason, just because of the OS (I assume) windows servers are loads more.

 

Their aren't any free ones, believe me I've tried to find one. Their is a couple of trials out there that you can renew after a week, but usually they either don't come with internet or you can't bot on them because they stop working after half an hour, until you turn them on again.

Is their any chance you could let me know what bot you're running?

Do you mean the Bot client or the actual script?
