    For anyone developing Windows applications, making sure your programs work on the latest versions of Windows is very important. So some of you might like to have the future version to test on. You can download it for free from microsoft.com here.

    I've had it dual booting for some time now, and I make sure to test on Windows XP, 7 and 8. So should you.

    I wouldn't use it as my main OS. I literally only use it for testing.

    Presently, Windows Virtual PC doesn't seem to be recent enough to run Windows 8.

    VMWare Workstation 8.0 works, though.

    I know. I just wanted to know if it was a safe tool to use as testing ground for my C++ programs, or if it'd just crap out on me.

    That's the whole point of it. I haven't had any trouble with it for testing.
