Official Optimus/Counter thread... Before it gets crazy

Now that we know it is not optimus. I'd still like to take this opportunity to talk and answer some questions about Bot nuke V2 / Optimus:


According to jagex statements:
* Optimus is likely to be towards injection and finishing off the remaining "reflection" bots.
* Optimus will likely to add some graphic change to attempt to stop color bots.
* The major nuke for color bots will come at a later date, because its soo "easy" to be delt with.
* Optimus will also improve FPS, addition the graphic as stated above. Which would make runescape more enjoyable if they didn't mess it up.

Statements from the color bots community:
* Jagex's recent update that force players to refresh to browser, hits NORMAL PLAYERS much much more than bots, as its a very simple fix to do.
* Color bot shall never be stopped, unless jagex remove some critical parts of runescape.
* While runescape stays as a web client, there is ALWAYS away to read color off runescape, might be slow but a way is a way.
* If runescape goes downloadable, a HID mouse is in works.

I wonder what makes them so confident about removing color bots.

inb4 anything other than optimus speculation.

 

For me it does not seems like Optimus, anyway would be cool if they can do it. Especially FPS part.

But more likely its some other update.

 

I hope it is Optimus, bots are starting to take the piss again.

 

There are two type of mouse, one is a software mouse and another is HID.
Simba and others non client mouse are using software based mouse moving methods. But those can be detected and prevented by anti cheat.

A HID is a human interface device, which is the computer see it as a real mouse and use the default USB mouse usb driver. Since its classified as a hardware, it can't be differentiated by almost ANY anti cheat as far as I aware. Doesn't mean they can't temporarily block it.

 

I don't see what you expect will happen when RuneScape goes downloadable, there will still be a client.jar which we can use to create/hack our own clients off.

 

I don't see why those specific locations are put in there. Ardougne and catherby aren't places where there are tons of bots. Grand exchange might make sense with advertizing bots.. Maybe they're getting rid of gambling? Or maybe they're adding airplanes.

So is this the mad may countdown or is this actually the optimus count down?

 

I'm hoping it's Optimus, but given the fact this update only affects three locations in RS, I wouldn't bet it's something massive like that. I would guess a graphical rework perhaps. < My two cents.

 

I have noidea how will they approach a downloadable version. Hopefully it will generate more opportunity for botting methods.

I thought Jagex said before that they were looking to change Runescape from java, into a different language. That might involve making a downloadable client. It would be a good cause to look into, since java is fast becoming obsolete.

 

It's Runespan, the new RuneCrafting method, why these 3 locations for a bot nuke? I think the nuke is somewhere mid-may or june/july.

Guys, unless there's something I'm missing, its not Optimus because:
1. They wouldn't only nuke bots in certain areas.
2. They have stated, again and again, that they don't want to talk about Optimus or give botters a headsup, as it would give botters time to prepare

Do you know how hard, how long, and how much capital it would take to rework the game form the ground up? It would take a lot of work and a lot of money.

 

yes it would probably take a multi million dollar company with over 300 employees.
