There have been NUMEROUS MSN hackings within the last 24-48 hours. Please use EXTREME caution when trading with ANYONE, "trusted" or not. I HIGHLY suggest you record ENTIRE transactions with EVERYONE that you deal with. This is for your own protection.

Always ensure you follow EVERY golden rule of trading.

• ALWAYS get a PM. There should be NO EXCUSES FOR THIS.
• If the price is too good to be true -- IT PROBABLY IS.
• RECORD AND SCREENSHOT EVERYTHING.
• NEVER rush through a trade. If the other person is trying to rush you or push you into something you're unsure of, CONSIDER IT A RED FLAG.

Thanks for posting this n4n0, I hope no more MSNs/Sythe accounts turn out to be hacked because of the recent event.

Why are loads of people being hacked?

 

If I neglected to add anything, let me know and I'll edit my OP.

 

Guys, make sure to change passwords everywhere you have used the same or similar ones you have used on Sythe. Even if they were just similar, let's say 123456 and not 12345678.

Moreover, make sure that all your emails, messengers, bank login details and others, have unique passwords and all recovery details (recovery emails, recovery answers which would be hard to guess, telephone numbers etc.).

If you suspect that you are talking with a hacker that stole a MSN/Sythe account, ask him the questions that only a member himself would answer.


Staff, if you will need any help regarding this thing, I can help, I am very expierenced in it. I have helped numerous people in similar situations, and I have had several jobs related with this, one included working with Paypal support.

Once again. Your PayPal and RS passwords SHOULD NOT be the same as your Sythe passwords. In some cases, you (or your parent's) credit rating could be ruined thru paypal, and that's a pretty bad thing, and you could be a victim of RS hacks

That would be me, kevin, jevon off the top of my head that aren't on the list. My sythe wasn't hacked but my linked email was which is how the hacker recovered my selling email.

It is important to note that changing your linked email password is important if it has the same password as your sythe account. My sythe password and selling email password were not the same however thats how they recovered it.

Isn't it possible to force a password change for everyone on sythe and not make it voluntary? It seems like the hacker has access to every single person's password.

Agree with kmjt, this thread has 16 views, other has not much more and stickys also .
That would be wise to add warning upon login or opening sythe, so everyone can see it!

Btw: Is it just me or for everyone it is taking longer to load sythe.org? (Always get error) . Could sythe be possibly under DDoS from hacker ,who do not want from victims to see warnings?

 

Nope.

What's happening is the DB is leaked and they use a website to dehash the hashed passwords and just do some social engineering to find out the popular sellers/buyers who possibly have lots of geepes.

 

Yeah I got it ,but all users are in danger,not just few super sellers ,who see this thread or few others. Also for me sythe takes longer to load as usually or gives 500 - Internal Server Error
