Ishmael becomes his worst Nightmare
Some of the reactions I face when I read these chapters are, I’m surprised that Ishmael turns into someone that he hated for years and drugs just turned him into a monster just like them. We as readers can tell it was the adrenaline that took over because he says “I raised my gun and pulled the trigger, and I killed a man. Suddenly, as if someone was shooting inside my mind all the massacres I had seen sense that day” (119). This quote moved me because it shows that if you bottle stuff up and not let it bother you eventually you could snap and do horrible things.
