    Insomnia

Since I haven't had to wake up early anymore for the last 2 months I started staying up late, like around 1-4am.

Now that I'm used to that, whenever I try going to sleep my mind doesn't let me, even if I'm tired.

The only thing that I do to occupy my time is browse sythe and 4chan while listening to music, then eventually I end up watching a couple movies on netflix.

I tried lulling myself to sleep with earbuds in my ear listening to low music but that didn't work much.

What can I do about this?

Staying up on the computer doesn't help you fall asleep, it actually helps do the opposite.

Have a glass of warm milk, oatmeal or a banana or 2. They help.

This, however, sounds more of a case where your sleep pattern was ruined. How many hours of shut eye are you able to get a day? On average. What time do you usually fall asleep (if you do)? How long do you sleep through 1 session?

We'd need a bit more information on this.

I was having a similar problem, it wasn't insomnia. But my sleeping pattern was an absolute mess. I started sleeping later and later by the day. I started sleeping around 6-7AM, it eventually got to a point where I slept around 9AM. And sleeping that late that didn't help, because the house is different around noon, and that means I got less sleep with things disturbing me. It wasn't really good because I started sleeping really late, and I was getting less sleep than usual.

    Insomnia

I had that EXACT same sleep schedule before.. I used to sleep in quite late and then I would subsequently be up for hours and hours into the night. The way that I fixed it is pretty simple, and might work for you too.

Try setting 1 or 2 alarms for a set time that you want to wake up everyday: lets say 7am (when I wake up). Once those alarms are set, you have to get up at that time NO MATTER WHAT, even if you didn't manage to get to bed until 5am the night before. When you get up at the arranged time, make sure you stay awake and active all day and don't take any naps or rest. By the time the evening rolls around, you should be starting to feel tired because of all the extra hours of sleep you have missed, and falling asleep should get easier & easier over the period of a few days, IF you stick to your schedule.

The only other option is to just simply pull an all nighter and then crash the following night. This isn't exactly healthy though, so you should just gradually deprive yourself of sleep the way that I described until you have your new schedule completely, 100% under control.

I get up at 7am everyday now, even though I still have trouble sleeping (I have insomnia and always have). There are nights when I pass out quite early, and nights when I am up late into the night and it drives my crazy, but no matter what I always get up at 7am. It works great for me, has helped me regulate my sleep like I haven't been able to in years, and also extends my days so that I get a full day :)

    Good luck mate.

I end up getting around 7-11 hours a sleep in a session, I never wake up during my sleep.

Thanks for the tips, I'ma try going to sleep at 4am, and set up the alarm to 11am.

    Insomnia

try some nice relaxing music (avoid rap) set it to a nice and gentle sound and just rest your eyes to that. find a comfortable position in a comfortable environment and just relax. what ever you do though do not touch any electronic device. make a play list and put it on shuffle but do not feel the need to touch it and have the light shining on you.

Eat a nice meal before you attempt to go to sleep but dont over stuff yourself or eat something that might cuase you to have an upset stomach because that would cause you to be up later anyways.

Just a few methods for you to possibly try, never had too many problems with insomnia but i hope i can be of some assistance :)

    Insomnia

Usually with my work I go to sleep at 6am-8am and have to stay up all night. To get back to routine I set my clock early and add a couple alarms, get my ipod and listen to music that's soothing and I love. I usually turn it off and difrtly fall asleep around 1-2 hours. Slowly just do this everyday and sleep around 30min-1hour earlier and continue this.

It's always different for everyone but just pointing out the method I use to break this cycle as I have to do it often.

    Insomnia

I also suffer from this, I learned to make sure I try go to bed on a set time no matter if I am tired or not just go to bed and watch a bit of TV till I fall to sleep. Now I can go to sleep pretty well and get a good night sleep, feel free to PM me if you have any questions about how I deal with my problem.
