If you look at the image and blink a lot, it actually switches directions, it's surprising how hard it is to make your brain see it switch directions while looking at it.

 

It does not spin for me.

 

I've been looking @ that for the past 10 minutes.

The idea behind this is that the left or right (I forgot) part of your brain is the artistic one which is used only 30% (I think, I don't remember) of the time. The right (left) side is the creative and spontaneous side. If you are able to change the the way the woman spins on command, then you are in good control of your brain. This has nothing to do with intelligence; it has largely to do with visual intake and processing, which can be practiced and is most useful to artists. (Try walking backwards doing your daily routine, try writing with your non-writing hand, try reading from right to left, etc.)

If the lady only spins in one direction, you should probably eat more meat so your brain can grow. If you're vegetarian, then gf.

That's all BS. you just need optical clues to decide where she is going. If you get some, it becomes easy, but without them it just defaults to what it sees first

 

It defaults to what is seen first because you process it with that side of your brain; usually the non-artistic one. Where's the education in being given clues? The picture is supposed to make you concentrate and to try to control how you view it and not understand the trick behind it. Wouldn't we all love these "optical" clues in life.
