What is better to train ranging crossbow or short bow and once you get the required level is it worth getting a dark bow?

 

It all depends on your cashflow. If your only willing to buy iron arrows to train, then its probably better to use a rune c'bow w/ broad bolts to train. However knives of any sort would be the best option. As for the dark bow, it's worth getting for pking, however, terrible for training.

 

As Ecstasy said, it really depends on where your planning on training. If your planning on training at places like caged ogres or rock crabs etc, a short bow would be best. If you want to train at dragons and such you would use a cbow.
Dbow, is mostly used for its spec nothing else.

 

Knives are the best. They are fast and fairly cheap training.

 

This. Iron knives are probably the best, cheap yet effective. To your original question though, shortbow for training.

Fast exp, expensive but oh well. WORTH IT

 

Knives are the best, for good xp and cheap, but if you have some money to spend i would go chinning but depends on your cash flow and if you want to spend it.
