I forget all of the current theories on space, but one that seemed appealing to me is that there is an end - but it has been, and still is, growing.

I don't know the science behind that, but it is interesting to ponder.

There must be only a finite amount of matter in this universe unless there is some form of link between other bubbles of universes. Well, this is very deep and the answer will never be found anything soon.

We're still very primitive in this subject.

If any of us have a basic idea on this subject, the world will be a very different place as we know it.

We will get there one day. Just not anytime soon. By that time, expect to see a very different world. Star trek anyone?

It's possible that our universe is in an infinite rebound movement.

Basically like a rubber band. It's stretched out until it can't stretch anymore, and then it collapses near instantly. That explains the big bang, and possible a ultramassive black hole at the center of the universe.

So nero is right about how the big-bang operated, sort of. Which was essentially a giant matter smashing into antimatter explosion. However there is are theories as to how the singularity occurred which is embedded in the quantum theory.

Since the singularity was at least as small as an atom it is entirely possible in the quantum theory due to the extreme instability of space for a singularity to simply appear.

But once you get away to quantum physics things just become much too complicated to explain in a single forum post. We still don't even know how macro-physics and quantum physics relate because the laws change drastically at the quantum level. Which does give rise to theories about the singularity that initiated the creation of the universe.

Well its because our theories are much like explaining 4x5 as 4+4+4+4+4. They both effectively work, but it is like one is taped onto the other instead of a single theory. I figure soon enough we will discover a unified theory likely within this lifetime.

    1: You're presupposing a lot about time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time
2: Matter is a prerequisite to "placement," "someone," and "something."

i feel like anything before the big bang can only guessed at...
but i feel like matter is finite, god must have created it in the beginning
