Man, why didn't I know that these games will be worth money when they get old. I remember years and years ago I use to see them in the shop for like £5 on the sale bin because they was old.

I can understand unopened game consoles being worth much more than original if it is like an atari, Nes, sega cdi, sega 3, sega genesis, colico vision, others. mint quality systems will always have value, as well as games.

The N64 disk drive seems to be only getting more expensive, so if your a high risk trader it might be worth looking into.

If a mods reading this could you change the title to " Speculating on video games" seems like a way better description than investing.

The prices of sealed older games hops up and down constantly depending on newer games that are coming out. same with older games used just not as big of hops. I buy and sell used games all the time now and you have to constantly stay on top of prices or you could over pay for items that would have ben a good deal less than 2 months ago.

Just make sure you explore the market first. Pokemon and most N64 games are great sellers, though the very popular, though less produced Sonic games are worth a pittance now.

Unless you do have the original wrapping, unopened games, then your profits will be slow and incredibly tedious. I mean, it's 15 years after the Pokemon games originally came out, and they're still worth less than their original pricing (opened games, that is).

I wouldn't say it's a sound investment, unless you're collecting the absolute top of quality and selling it to collectors. These games are becoming rarely bought by the casual gaming crowd as copies can be obtained for free through emulators.

A supersmash bros factory sealed in good condition will go for 350$ no doubt.

Id have to disagree (about the games being rarely sought after) as long as your competetively priced I sell up to 20 older games a day on amazon.

I thought about it recently but figured you're probably wise to invest in a high interest savings account. That way at least you are guaranteed a return.
