Hi there, got a few questions about WU.

how does WU work?
let's say i sell something online for WU.
do I need an bank account to recieve the money? do I have to be 18+?
if someone sents the money can i immidiatly pick it up?
what do I have to do to pick the money up (in the office).
will they ask from where the money came from.

some tips would be appreciated.

You need to be 18+.

You just need a ID to go and pick up the money.
To pick up money, you need the senders name and the MTCN. Mtcn is a 10 or 9 digit code that is the private code in there system.

 

How does WU work?
They ask for your name and location and they send the money to WU and give you their name, location and MTCN the MTCN is a code what you also need to write down and take it to the WU location give them these details and they give you the cash.

No, you don't need a bank account. But you must be 18 years of age to collect.

If someone sents the money can i immidiatly pick it up?
Yes you can pick it up straight away.

What do I have to do to pick the money up (in the office)?
Take a form of ID with you such as your passport. Also you need the MTCN number and the name of the person, also the location of the person.

Will they ask from where the money came from?
No, they will not.

Contrary to popular belief you do not have to be 18 to collect Western Union money. As long as you show them a proper form of identification (i.e. a school I.D., license, hunting license, etc.) they will give you your money.

 

In the UK you have to be 18.

 

I'm, from Belgium [EU] i have an ID so I can take that.
if not my bro can pick it up he's 18+

Just a quick note before you get the thread closed, make sure you get the Western Union payment in your brothers name if your letting him pick it up.
