Is rs really truly comingto an end?

Rumors rumors rumors. but are they true? selling squeal spins. IRC? i think YES. it's quite sad tbh but its been a fun game since '99.

If i know the answer is a definite I'd probably stop now. Stop wasting time and money for it to all dis-peer. opinions, thoughts?

No, it will not shut. Don't listen to rumours 99% of them are always lies.

 

2022? i highly doubt rs will last 10 more years..

its a dying game, and is getting worse and worse

 

This is the only year in almost 8 years of me playing rs where I wouldn't be surprised if rs shut down at the end of the year.

Obviously it won't shut down for a while... but the overall the game participation will die down for sure.

 

I give it 5 years unless there are some drastic changes in the Updates and how they connect with their players.

 

RS will last several more years at least; mostly because although people are leaving there are constantly new players who know no different from the current game and will probably keep playing.

 

If they get a new head of Jagex that actually cares about the game, the players, etc. Then, I'd say 10 years. If not, 5 years at the most. They're going to try and milk it until they have 10k players left online.

 

RS will always be there, years from now. There are so many new players joining everyday who will be playing for a long time. They are financially secure too so I don't know why your all saying its going to close.

 

idk why people think the game is dying, its as well as ever tbh. is it as fun to most of us as it was in say 2006? no, but that doesnt mean the game is dying. Its still pretty close to the top of the list of active members for an online game.

and it shows that jagex is pretty well financially secured when they nuked bots, cause that was a lot of money for them. Tbh i was a botter, but if anything it shows they care about their game.

 

I don't understand what IRC means in this context. I think the game is getting shitty but as long as some people play it they will keep it going, they may stop updating it eventually and stop caring, but they'll probably keep the servers up like with classic.

 

I think or i hope that jagex finally come to their senses and realize that there not actually making that game better with all these crappy updates but making them worse and decide to listen to the runescape community!

 

Do people actually realize that no game of such size has ever been "shut down" yet? Even ancient MMORPGs like Ultima Online while hardly active, are still being played. Because of the immense amount of players who are still active, this simply cannot happen to RuneScape. Because - No game like this is ever going to shut down while it still profits even a penny.

 

I personally think it will last close to another decade.

 

That's the problem, they do realize but don't care, they are making money and that's all the new owners are after. However, Runescape is not coming to an end and won't do until a long time.

 

I don't think it'll close down atall, too many people enjoy the game and follow it.

 

Money, Money, Money.... everyone thinks that all they want is money... Think about the paycheck they cut employees every 2 weeks! Think about the server costs for all 100+ worlds, the dedication, the graphics, the time and effort put into this creation they call RuneScape... Honestly, this game is some peoples job, what feeds their family... They don't care about money, they care about the players.... Players pay for the game, without players RS would be non-existent. They have nowhere to go but UP & expand, look at RS in 1998 to now (2012) the MAJOR graphic enhancements its unreal, next they will launch WoW like graphics, etc... they listened to the players, brought the wild back.... listened to the players, MASS BANNED botters, roll backs, resets, etc... it wont die.

 

Of course they care about the players. Because more and happy players = more memberships.

 

RS is far from done. The game may be shitty but people are still payin' and playin'.
