After watching this i've come to the opinion that this all a big scam.

First the people in Uganda are finding Oil enough for 30 years.
A pervert (see: http://gawker.com/5894093) is setting up a campaign to stop this person called 'Kony'. He got a lot of money from the campaign selling those stupid 'action kits'. The government of the United States is ready to invade this country to 'stop' this person, surprisingly after they found oil!Oh, yes sounds legit.. NOT.

I totally agree. I've thought it's been a scam from the start. I've seen all three of them videos and came to the same conclusion myself.

The government's not involved, the Kony campaign's been around long before the gov't had any interest in going into Africa for oil. It's just a way for this guy to sell $30 kits

I don't believe I have seen you post a single piece of information that didn't somehow involve a government doing some sort of act. It is sad when intellectualism is confused with pure paranoia and conspiracy.

It may be a scam, but so are 90% of all of the other foundations. This is just the latest one.

Well if its a scam or not kony is still a huge problem.

I want to point out that the OP is really biased, which makes it hard to offer an opposing opinion.

Russell was never proven to be masturbating. Most sites have admitted that they were wrong about their initial reports, and that he was actually having a mental breakdown. The video you provided supports this. Maybe he has a fetish, but that doesn't look like masturbation.

In the third video, it was stated that if JK were to be in authority, he would arm children with guns and that war to him was as common as ironing clothes. I don't care if to him war like ironing clothes, I don't think children should have guns. Granted, I'm from the U.S., and maybe in Uganda, children really need guns but as of now I don't have any way to judge that.

Who is anyone to say that the posters of the Kony videos are dumb? If there are more pressing issues, and you think they are more worthy of exposure than the Kony videos, go make you're own video documenting your worthy issue instead of making condescending memes.

For the record, I'm in no position to head to Africa with an assassination scheme, so I haven't given the actual issue much thought. That being said, I don't like Kony, and even if I think people sharing videos may not do much, it's nice that people are sharing something other than cat pictures for once.

 

Anyone with a brief wikipedia history of Africa has known he hasn't been a significant threat ever and his headquarters were disbanded before the viral video went public. Its all a sham for money under the guise of a charity.

Its just so he can sell the kits he made and make some money, if it stops any harm going on in the world great but the main reason was to make money.

 

I'm not sure what the genuine intentions of the Kony2012 video actually were, however having read the Reddit posts on it and viewing other dissenting videos I'm inclined to believe that it wasn't created for a noble purpose but to capitalize on the fact that most young people - its target audience - have no real knowlege of anything that has taken place within the past few decades, will not read further into information they are given and will thus spread it around as much as possible to seem like they are making a difference.

 

I didn't buy it when I first saw it, the way that they presented the video made me doubt it for some reason.

I saw that a lot of celebrities who initially tweeted and facebooked about Kony, removed their tweets and posts soon after the rumours came out, about it being a scam. That tells me that they too probably had no real affiliation with invisible children, and they just went along with what was trending, or genuinely thought that it was a good cause.

 

who really gives a shit, if you fell into this you're just stupid to begin with.

i personaly think kony 2012 is suppost to be a good thing i don't think it is a scam but you never know.

 

the whole thing IS DEFINITELY a big scam. I have several friends who are doing missionary work in uganda, the people of uganda don't care about cony, especially now he is gone.

They ask for a donation directly to them, an unknown charity.

Uganda has so many issues that REALLY need help over there. the shamans cut the penises of children and babies as part of their rituals. Torture is commonplace, there are so many people there than genuinely need help it frustrates me that a scam like this has sucked in so many.
