    Protein Before or After?

That's awesome dude, I'm actually trying to become a Nutriotionist, and maybe get my certifications later.

As far as protein, it is highly suggested you eat some healthy carbs, along with some protein, that way your body will have some fuel to give out some extra reps in the gym. Also after your workout there is an hour window of opportunity where your body is in need of many BCAA's (I usually take it half an hour or earlier and I usually eat this very delicious shake: 1 whole egg, 6 egg whites, half a cup of milk, and a scoop of 100% whey protein with half a cup of oats to replenish my muscles.) Then about an hour after than I eat a meal consisting of 1 serving of each: protein, carbs, veggies to further replenish my body with nutrients it needs.

Maximum nutrients to replenish the body!
Also 3 hours before I head to bed, I drink another shake of 100% cassein protein (only 1 scoop) so my muscles get replenished while I'm sleeping

    ;)

    Protein Before or After?

Are you sure that its work is not biology?
    Amino acids? Metabolism?

The most you would learn from a physical education course is like you said, blood is vigorously pumping through your muscles and that is the time that your body absorbs the nutrients best.
I went through the trouble of figuring out why, at the same level of your reason, it is also good to consume protein before a workout. It is because when you work out, your body not gains more muscle but also destroys your muscle cells. Drinking your protein shakes before a workout will make that loss minimal.

And I don't know what you're trying to get at with the talk about people believing bullshit in newspaper articles and journals. Clearly, this is not me, because I already told you that I am writing this from my own personal observations.

    Let me clean this up.
The minute you read that I was a trainee to become a personal trainer, you were ticked off.
You were further provoked when I called you ignorant.
Your pride wouldn't allow you to just ignore it, so you decided to try to search for what I've said wrong.
You don't care about the scientific backings, the reasons why it is beneficial to take your protein before a workout.
This is what will probably happen. Instead of just accepting my reason, you'll continuously make rebuttals and point out flaws in my arguments.
If you find this message here, you'll probably deny it.
What matters to you is having the last word to maybe secure your pride.
Well you can have it, because I'm no longer going to take part in this pointless argument.

    Protein Before or After?

After, there are all the scientifical facts that you can back it up with, but personally I have noticed the best results by drinking protein shakes, etc. after.

    Protein Before or After?

Without trying to provoke further arguing, I will answer based on my research as well as personal experience.

First, while researching what serious lifters (both competition bodybuilders as well as those who seek a near perfect physique) do, I've found that the general consensus is to consume the fast-absorbing protein shake after the workout within 30 min of finishing. Many also suggest eating a small piece of fruit along with the shake to help spike their insulin, and get the protein to the muscles even faster. If a pre-workout supplement were taken, it's usually nitrates to increase blood flow for extra intensity during the workout.

From my own experience, drinking the shake post-workout has worked great and produced the results I wanted. Although I have not tested SexayMistahBee's advice of taking it both before and after. So I will not discredit his theory.

It was clear by Inpherus' first post that he knows what he's talking about. Few who haven't done some real research on the matter would know when to take the slower absorbing protein, or what a pre-workout meal should consist of and when it should be eaten.

    Protein Before or After?

Some people do it before and after, But your only meant to drink a little bit before you start and then finish it after ur hard workout.

    Protein Before or After?

Before, that way you don't die midway through your workout from the lack of it before the workout.

    Protein Before or After?

You should not be working out if your body is relying on protein as its source of energy.

If you are going to take protein, you must take it immediately after your workout within a reasonable time. Taking it before your workout is optional, and will probably be somewhat beneficial. That said, if you can only take it once, take if after your workout, not before.

    Protein Before or After?

Definitely after your workout, although its beneficial to have it before too. Just make sure you get carbs in before your workout so you actually have energy for an effective workout.

    Protein Before or After?

I personally take it 30 minutes before and straight after a workout. It's more benificial drinking it twice.
