Alternatives to RAM + SLOW COMPUTER

I recently dug up my old desktop computer from the garage today and was hoping that I could clean it up so that I could run my 1-2 RS bots on it without jepordizing the speed on my laptop.

It's got windows vista, a 1.8ghz processor, but only 500mb of ram.

I don't think this will be enough to smoothly run the bots.

I was wondering if there is a way I could increase my ram without actually buying and physically installing another ram card. I was hoping that there could be some way I could use a usb/external harddrive to do it.

If you know of any ram alternatives please let me know.

Also, my computer is the slowest pile of shit ever. I made a new user account, and deleted the old one along with all the files on it. I'm in the process of defragmenting/disk cleanup/downloading windows updates. If you guys can think of anything that will make this bad boy start up faster, run faster, and be able to handle 2 simba bots- please post.

RAM is cheap, that's the only thing that will really benefit you.. I mean, you could try using ReadyBoost on a flash drive or solid state disk, but using it on a mechanical HD would be stupid since the whole thing keeping you back is not being able to access the data quickly enough to run bots.

Just buy more ram dude, get like 3 or 4 gb total so you have enough.. I know the WalMart by me used to sell RAM, but I don't know anymore.. Order it online or something.

 

Is all ram the same?

Like can I buy any 4gb ram chip and it'll fit in my desktop?
