    most of it is in the description of the items but some of it is research i guess..? Like DDR3 goes with desktop and not laptop. stuff like that

    Well cpu's have sockets that must match the motherboard. The motherboard will most likely need 240pin ddr3 1600mhz RAM. Check the motherboard specs to know what you can use. The cooling will tell you what sockets it's made for. The motherboard will tell you if it supports SATA III or SATA II, that tells you what kind of drive you want (but any will probably do except IDE) uhmm... I can't think of anything else right now.
