The good old days thread.

This thread is aimed at the members of Sythe who have been around for a while now to remind us how ancient we are and how little of us are left while sharing some memories.

For example who remembers the old irc.sythe.org where we could actually talk to sythe sometimes if you stayed up till 5 am on the east coast?

Who remembers the sauce epidemic between Jansen DraculaZ MittenZ and myself?

Who remembers Eliteswitch and Covey which one of those stupid guide websites basically stole and remade into "their own" client.

Who remembers Cody and his pope avatars hahahahaha.

Too many good memories.

I was here during irc.sythe.org ... good freakin times.. I also remember that when i first discovered sythe I had gotten my first 99

 

My first memory of IRC was saying that WoW was shit, and then TDD lecturing me about the effort that goes into game making and all.
And when king..something kept saying that nobody could hack his computer and his mouse started moving of its own accord.

Govind being called 'suck my rune2h' or whatever too, haha.

[EDIT] Oh and the Eternalmage saga...

 

People started using the Pope avatar after Cody had vanished and I was always like "OH SHIT HE'S BA- Owait".

 

More recently, when Finn (I think) got everyone wearing signatures of chinese people with unfitting text made in paint, and ended up winning with one in the SOTW.

 

HAHAHA eternalmage. Some embarrassing moments for some staff members regarding him lol.

It seems as time goes on, more of our friends get banned or leave, and so we can all look back on a particular time and miss it (even if we're not necessarily ancient).

 

I miss when 90% of the active userbase didn't have their goddamn NAME in their signature.

So boring and repetitive.

 

Well the word signature effectively means your name signed at the end of a document if your signature doesn't have your name in it, it doesn't count as a signature.

 

You know what I meant. Go be a smartarse somewhere else.

 

I remember it all. I miss that old IRC.

How old is the old IRC?
I've used a load of IRC's for Sythe.

 

I know it isn't really a long time back, but I miss 2010 and all the members who are either banned now or not as active. Hahanerd, Plznate, Surround Sound, Necromancer, Finn, Magic Arrow, Rhodesy, Rohail, Dalpra, R33L2R3AL and heaps of others. So much fun.

Before 2010, I remember their was an official Sythe IRC where it was completely official. Another one opened in late 2010 I believe.The current one and majority of others were unofficial though.
