after playing rs for 10 years, finnally lost intrest.

pretty much sums it up, after getting back from my abscense, and trying to play runescape, i've realised how boring it has become, after doing everything in the game, and not being the type of person to care about having all 99s, and seeing the direction the game is heading. just decide to sell off all my accounts.


what keeps you interested in this game aside from friends who may play?

i've went since first starting rs from playing it 10 hours a day, to not being able to stay on it for no longer then 10 minutes.

 

Well yeah, runescape is not so much fun as before.
The only thing I see fun with runescape is duel arena. And thats because of the amazing irl profit that can be made with some luck.

Before you sell your accounts, make sure you really can let go and be without them.

 

I get online for a release from day to day issues. Its a distraction, its harmless and I'm at home. I interact with a few friends etc while skilling.

What keeps me playing is PKing. I want to build my new account back up to the same levels as my main, and then pk and hopefully make irl money while pking.. Sad to hear you lost interest<3

 

I loved 2003-2006.I hated it as soon as bh came out. When pvp was around I liked it and was fun. Around the time free trade came back I relzied I hate the game and the community.

 

I know what you mean.
I used to be able to grind skills for hours on end, now I can hardly sit there and do one slayer task. Just lost motivation.

 

Tbh, I want to quit too, but I don't, because my lil brother always tells me to get back and stuff :/

 

I think you should keep your account(s), so if one day you feel like playing, you can. I'm currently in the process of hopefully making a maxed range staker (getting things sorted) so that's why I'm going to continue play.

I cannot deny that the game has been rapidly sliding downhill, and the thought of quitting again has crossed my mind. I just don't think I can do that right now though.. I love RS too much.

I think the #1 thing that keeps me playing, is the fact that Runescape is very "new" to me, and has lots of exciting content that I have not yet experienced. I felt exactly the way you do back in 2005/2006 and I quit RS for what I thought was permanently. I gave away my bank, my accounts, everything, and yet I still somehow ended back on this game 6 years later

You can imagine that the game has changed tremendously within 6 years though, and I've only been playing again for 9-10 months and I think that feeling of adventure and excitement is what keeps me playing. As soon as that runs out, I will get bored and likely quit again.

 

Yeah, pretty much the same thing for me.

Use to love it now I can't stand it. I only hop on to grab some gold or some shit.

But for majority of current players they have friends in the game or they are oblivious of where the game is heading.

 

The only reason i can stay on for +5 minutes is for staking. Pking is way to confusing now I mean like everyone hybrids so hardcore. The thing that sucks about staking now is that everyone boxes or rapiers. As a result, everything is left up to chance.. I mean if you lose you can stake 2x as much but there really isn't any way to secure that you will win. Obviously there is PID too but nearly every staker knows how to get the first hit now.

 

If you have nothing to work towards then it will get boring. I personally set myself goals after having gotten all 99's and I'm doing okay .

 

I can't tell you how many times I've played RS and got bored of it to the point that just thinking about it made me want to puke. Yet I always come back, whether it be a 5 months later, a year later, or longer, no matter how much I thought I wouldn't.

Maybe you need a break from the game, maybe a long one, maybe you'll never come back, but I wouldn't sell off anything. Accounts aren't worth shit these days when factoring in the amount of time that gets put into them.
