Well, first off, you should let someone "Recruit-a-Friend" to WoW. In doing so, you can level with the friend and get double the experience to a certain level cap. There are also other perks to Recruit-a-Friend, which may be reviewed on Blizzard's website.

Thereon, you would most likely want to buy the Battlechest and all expansions for WoW (if you were really wanting to get in to it). If you only want to test the game up to the first 60 levels, I would suggest buying the first version of WoW, and then upgrading from there. I'm not sure if it would cost you more money-wise, but it could save you money if you don't truly enjoy playing the game.

All in all, there is a lot in the game for everybody. Such like the Auction House. I feel everybody should be able to get a piece.

Best of luck, and if you need any help in the future, my PM box is open.

    Cheers.

to continue with unb4nn3d's post, RAF is a good way to level in the game, but its not always the best choice if you want to experience the game, yes you will get to know leveling/grinding and no it is nothing like runescape in the leveling aspect. If you want to try the game out, buy the battlechest as you get wow, burning crusade [1st expac] and one free month of wow. i think it is better to buy it online and download it if you have the internet speed/size, or but it in store. also, you're better off purchasing game time online. experience wise, i played scape for 6 years and by the end of it completely hated, HATED everything about it. though i've only been playing wow 9 months in total, i am yet to get sick of wow as i was to runescape. everything about it from the better graphics to the awesome pvp is better. you're able to actually move your character with the keyboard and explore the world [not like a birds eye view where you keyboard turn the screen and click to move].

i personally recommend it, as i am still playing and am addicted to it like crack :) any more questions, chuck me your skype and we can have a chat aha
