I can easily see them selling ways to unlock faster training methods, but obv not skills entirely.

Jagex is smart if they are really going to start introducing more micro transactions into RuneScape, because they can make a ton of money that way.

A lot of games are based entirely around micro transactions for a reason, so I'm surprised it took them this long to start up in RuneScape.

But in those games you don't pay for membership also. The only way I see microtransactions becoming part of RS is if they took away membership. Just go fully freemium.

Loyalty shop deals with Jagex tokens or w/e that you earn through purchasing membership. It does not deal with irl cash, so no.

    Jagex's next step?

I don't think they were fully hinting at it being $$$ when talking about loyalty, just that it will probably grow into being able to get items if you save up enough(which would probably end up being far cheaper anyways, since it'll come naturally as you continue to play with membership). The OP may have used buying stuff as an example, but I don't see "...in RWTing" anywhere, so my guess is anything that'll allow us to 'purchase' items without gp. ;D

I'm not sure. Seeing as the items from the Squeal of Fortune are untradeable, your actually -$. Selling items for real life money is one of their biggest rules, so I'm skeptical about it.

Hmm, they have lasted a long time without anything like that, i don't really see it going any further than the squeal of fortune.

    Jagex's next step?

I think regular players should give Jagex a break. The bot nuke wiped out a lot of money for them so that reg players could get benefit. Let them try and make back a little profit

Part of their reasoning behind the bot nuke was that bots created an unfair advantage over the real players. What they are doing here is exactly that.

It's a shame to see what Runescape was into what it's become.

But to be fair, I think the bot nuke happened prior to Jagex selling out. New leaders.. new ideas.
