Does epicbot really take your details? Also, what scripts work on epic bot? Thanks!

I have been hearing alot of bad stuff about epic all of the sudden so i changed all my account info and uninstalled it. Hope to find out more info

I've been using it for around a month without having any hacking attempts, random ip's logging into my account or anything, so far it's been completely safe. I even used my REAL log in details for the bot client so they definitely have access to my account and havn't done anything at all. I have used free woodcutter, fisher, vial filler, flax picker, cooker, fighter, miner and smelter which all worked really well in my opinion. Only script I tried which wasn't good was the free firemaker.

Epicbot itself DOES NOT contain any malware... but the INSTALLER however does. I downloaded Epicbot and just ran the installer, didn't even complete it, and red flags popped up. The following is and excerpt from the villavu forums.

    http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=77314

"IF you have downloaded this bot, and you are seeing decreases in PC performance, files disappearing, or anything else strange, open task manager, go to processes, Select: Show processes from all users, look for Au_.exe, and end it, then go to: C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp, if you see a folder ~nsu.tmp open it, and see if there is a program with the Epicbot icon, if so, go back and delete the ~nsu.tmp and restart your computer. "

Just because your runescape account wasn't hacked doesn't mean that you didn't get any malware. This is spyware which is probably A LOT worse than having your account hacked... Do yourself a favor and check your computer out.

Just looked through that thread on villavu and it's the 3rd party extras that contain the malware. These 3rd party extras don't have to be downloaded which leaves the actual epicbot client clean and safe.

There's really no way to be sure, the safest way is to use something open source + community developed. The only bot that is currently like this is Simba.

It does not matter if you install the third party extras or not. When I simply RAN the installer, the au_.exe was put on my system. When I say I ran the installer this is what I mean: I opened it, saw all the options, turned OFF the third party software, and then CANCELLED the install altogether. I still got the au_.exe. Just do yourself a favour and search your entire system for au_.exe.

I've searched my mac and can't find it. Maybe it's only in the windows version or something I don't know i'm not very computer savvy and I don't doubt that there could be a virus. So far, speaking from my experience i've had no problems, no noticeable changes to my macs function ability.

It does take your information. It's a free bot. I am using it and just be sure to change your password on a different computer then and now.

You're suppose to decline the extras they do that to create revenue, the malware is connected to rs in absolutely no way. be smart enough to read and you will be fine.
